When he received a call from Damion that Lily was in trouble, he sure as Hell wasn't expecting for him to carry her into the pack house conference room unconscious with Erica and Doctor Marshall in tow. Damion kicked down his office door, interrupting a meeting with a couple of council members.
"Sorry gentleman, duty calls." Damion said to them as he laid Lily down on a couch staged off to the side. One of the council members turned up his nose at the sight of two humans in the room.
"Take them out of here. What were you thinking bringing humans into the pack house?" The council member seethed, but Jayce punched the wall near the council members.
"Get out!" He roared at them. They both inclined their heads to their Alpha before fleeing from his rage. Doctor Marshall shut the door behind them. "What the Hell happened to her?" He demanded with a snarl as he looked toward Damion.
"We used chloroform on her." Erica stated bluntly.
"You did what?!" He roared, turning his gaze on her.
"This was the best course of action. We had no other choice, Alpha. Jasper has gotten into her head." Doctor Marshall explained. Jayce felt his claws sharpen at the name.
"How? How did he get to her?" He yelled, trying to hold his Wolf back, but it was a losing battle.
"She seemed off this morning. She had this massive headache that brought her to her knees. I've never seen her go through that before." Erica told him. The woman that didn't think too kindly of him before had completely turned away any ill feelings toward him. She was scared and worried for Lily.
"He was in her head at the office. I could drive him away for a short time so she could explain what was happening." Doctor Marshall said, looking uneasy.
"And?" He asked through gritted teeth.
"Jasper was mentally raping her." She said. Jayce stared at her as her words settled in.
"Oh, shit." Damion shouted as he jumped behind Jayce and restrained him as he began to shift.
"I'll kill him!" He roared, trying to throw Damion off of him. Erica moved away, fear in her eyes.
Jayce.
Jayce froze, his eyes darting over to Lily. She still laid there motionless aside from her chest rising and falling.
Wait, was she breathing faster?
He shrugged Damion off, kneeling beside Lily and noticed the pain in her knitted brows. He grabbed her hands, tightening his grip on them. She didn't wake.
"Dammit, wake up!" He yelled, surprised at the emotion in his voice. He was shaking from anger and fear. Fear for his Mate. Fear for the woman he was coming to love.
"Yelling at her won't do anything." Erica raised her voice at him.
"Babe, calm down." Damion tried to coax her.
"Don't babe me!" She yelled at him, "Do you love her?" Erica turned back to Jayce. Jayce stared down at Lily, watching the pain twist across her face. His Wolf growled, clawing and biting to get out.
Yes.
"Dammit, do you love her?" Erica shouted at him.
"More than anything." He whispered. Admitting it aloud made his chest swell up with emotion. He brought Lily's hands to his lips. "I'd give up everything if it meant taking her pain away forever." He said. Jayce felt a hand on his shoulder as Doctor Marshall knelt beside him.
"Lend her your strength." She told him. Jayce looked at her in confusion, but his Wolf growled in understanding. Intense heat spilled out from his core, overflowing into Lily's body. He could feel his Wolf spirit embracing her, protecting her from that monster.
Lily's eyes shot open, and she lurched forward, gasping for air. Tears streamed down her face as she took in her surroundings. Her eyes landed on Jayce, her bottom lip quivering.
"Jayce... I'm sor..." he pulled her into his arms, crushing her against him. He inhaled her scent, feeling her body, her hair. Jayce felt her clutch at his shirt, clinging to dear life. "He got in my head. I don't know how. He was in my dream last night." She said.
"Lily, you're okay now. You're safe." He told her, but it was more on trying to convince himself. He needed her to be safe. To be happy again. In order to do that, he needed to kill Jasper.
"Let me see her." Doctor Marshall said to him. He was reluctant to let her go as the doctor inspected her face. "Good, it looks like you're in the clear." She said, standing up again, "I'll be getting a ride back to the office." She turned and saw herself out. Lily looked around at everyone.
"I... He wouldn't..." she stammered as she tried to explain herself. Jayce pulled her back into his arms, cradling her.
"Don't. None of this is your fault, Lily." He said to her, feeling her cling onto him again.
"He came into our home..." she muffled into his shoulder, "He touched me... He violated me." He felt her arms tighten around him. Jayce could feel the anger in her heart. It startled him. He's seen her get mad before, but this feeling was something else. She was furious. He pulled back to look at her face.
"I'm the one that's sorry." He said to her, wiping the tears from her face, "I should have been able to keep him away from you."
"You can't keep him from my head." She said, and he growled deeply.
"I should! What man would I be if I can't fully protect the woman I love?" He shouted. She stared wide eyed at him as he openly confessed.
"We're going to see ourselves out." Damion chipped in from behind him. Shit, they were still there? Erica made a light argument, but Damion got her out of the room to they could be alone.
"Say it." Lily said to him. His brows furrowed together as his hands rested on her cheeks.
"I love you, Lily." He said with more confidence now. His Wolf brushed against the surface of his soul. Lily's hands went to his face.
"Again." She said, their faces getting closer together.
"I love you." He said again, his Wolf howling. He thought his heart would burst. She kissed him, filling it with every ounce of her being. He returned it deeply. His Wolf breached the surface, flowing his strength through to Lily. She pulled away with a gasp.
"What was that?" She asked him.
"My Wolf is lending you his strength." He said, bringing her closer to him, "Now you say it." He told her.
"Say what?" She said innocently. He growled at her, a light smile on her lips, "I love you, Jayce."
----------
Jayce turned over in his bed, feeling the silk sheets beneath him and a smooth, warm body beside him. As the sun shined in through the blinds, his eyes rested on Lily's sleeping face. She was resting on her stomach, her hair like a curtain over her face. He looked over her naked back, his hand tracing the large scar. It still infuriated him that Jasper still got to her, but that bastard made a grave error. He's close. It won't be long until he had his claws tearing him to pieces.
Lily stirred in her sleep, her tired eyes peeking through her hair. She sat up slowly, her hair still shielding her face. His eyes immediately went to her visible breasts, his cock hardening in sight.
"Good morning." She said to him, letting out a yawn. She stretched like a cat, her ass high in the air as the blanket fell away.
"Morning. Did I wake you?" He asked her as she laid out over his chest and stomach. His hand rested on her soft ass, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"No. I just needed to be up early." She said as she snuggled against him. His other hand came up, brushing his fingers through her hair slowly.
