“Yeah,” replied Skylar as she scanned Xander as well.

He asked amiably, “You don't look quite old. How long have you been together with Tobias?”

Marcus' expression changed, as if Xander had said something that he did not like.

Before Skylar could answer, he spoke on her behalf, “Dad, since when are you concerned about his matters?”

Xander cleared his throat. Since Skylar did not respond, he became disinterested and went back into the room, looking reluctant to interact much with her.

Skylar had heard about Xander's relationship with Tobias. When Xander was left with a lot of debt, he escaped overseas while leaving Claudia behind to sort out the mess.

Skylar discovered that he was actually not a bad person. He and his younger sister did not have the arrogant personality that other rich heirs had.
