It was only at the traffic light that Tobias took out his phone to find out that Skylar was getting impatient.

When the light turned green, he placed the phone in a slot between the seats. Idania's gaze fell on the three missed calls by Skylar.

“Aren't you going to pick up your girlfriend's call?” Idania flicked a carefully measured gaze at Tobias.

“Not yet. I'll head home after dropping you off.”

Idania was delighted that Tobias was ignoring Skylar's calls and messages for her.

Tobias hung up before she could respond.

Idania was amused at the irony of her fate as she finally understood the futility of her wandering around his place of residence in the hopes of running into him.

Idania's hand was on the handle. She did not invite Tobias up as she already knew the answer he was going to give.

“Could you come to visit me often?” she pleaded, turning back once more after she had alighted the vehicle. “You are the only person I know around here.”

“You should get some rest. It's late.”

Idania nodded, crestfallen at his cold response. She was once again unpleasantly reminded of his complete lack of sentiment.

I wonder if the first few years of our relationship even meant something to him.
