Skylar could not care less whether the house was demolished or not. She was indeed reluctant to part with Meredith's previous residence, but she had never requested Tobias to avoid that area during the demolition. At that moment, she felt aggrieved.

As soon as Skylar stepped into the house, she was hit by a pungent tobacco stench. Ximena's family members were sitting in the living room, all of whom Skylar recognized.

Skylar knew Ximena had believed in that type of physiotherapy health product when she was alive. She would spend a lot of money on them every year. Eventually, she even quit playing poker and used all her pensions to purchase those items.

Her sons had no complaints about her spending habits and were considered filial. Skylar knew them quite well. They were friendly but not adept at cracking jokes or making small talk with others.

Never in her wildest dream did she imagine Ximena would meet such an end. All of this happened because of money and people's insatiable greed.

Skylar sat in silence, knowing it was best to keep her mouth shut in that situation and let Tobias handle the problem.

Previously, she would have explained whenever people asked, but now she was tired of doing so since nobody would believe her no matter how much she said.

Ximena's death was a reality. Her eldest son, Shaun Zacoski, extinguished his last cigarette. They should've been busy with his mother's funeral arrangements at that time. Deep down, he knew he was being unfilial, but he couldn't resist the opportunity to make some money out of the situation.

Tobias' willingness to go there in person was a demonstration of his sincerity.
