Chapter 1022

A bunch of girls were all fired up, yakking away with sarcasm and blame. The men caught a few words, got their drift, smirked dismissively, then went back to their previous banter.

Jonathan

gave Clarice a cold once-over, fished out a cig, and someone nearby promptly lit it for him. He took a drag.

Bright and early the next day, Clarice was about to step out, when the doorbell chimed

Thinking it was a delivery from the property management, she went to answer the door, all the while slapping on a face mask.

As Clarice opened the door slightly, it was forcefully pushed open by someone. She stumbled back a few steps, astonished, as she watched four people barge into her home.

The leading lady was in her forties, with a stern expression on her face. Her eyes were narrowed into a thin line, giving her a menacing appearance.

She glared at Clarice, grabbed her by the pajamas without saying a word, and smacked her across the face, “You shameless wretch, trying to hook up with my husband’ Do you have any idea who I am?”

Clarice was stunned by the slap, she covered her face and retorted, “Who are you, and how did you find this place?”

She lived in a high-end residence, which strangers couldn’t just waltz in. How did the property management let these people rush up to assault her?

“This apartment was bought by my husband, why can’t I come?” The woman gritted her teeth, looking even more ferocious, “How many mistresses does that bastard Manuel have?”

Clarice paled, panicked inside but kept a calm facade, “You’ve got it all wrong, I bought this place myself, and I have no idea who your husband is!”

“Still so stubborn!” Cristina turned and yelled, “Billy, show her the pictures!”

A guy from behind stepped up and dumped a bunch of pictures on the table.

Clarice glanced at the photos and instantly felt dizzy. They were all pictures of her and Manuel together, including intimate photos of them in bed.

Everything went black for a moment; she almost passed out.

Once they left the residence, sitting in a Mercedes, Cristina openly leaned into the man called Billy, laughing, “I don’t care how Manuel plays around, but if he dares to spoil those women with my money, I’ll make them pay!”

Billy held her tight, a cunning look in his eyes, “You’re still too kind, why not kick her out.”

Cristina lowered her eyes, lips twitching, “You don’t understand, as long as we have the upper hand, we don’t need to make a big scene. These netizens are very sensitive, if we expose Manuel’s affairs, he may do something extreme, which won’t be good for me!”

Billy smiled, “You’ve thought of everything.”

However, Cristina looked puzzled, “Who gave me the photos?”

Billy looked surprised, “Didn’t you send someone to tail Manuel?”

Cristina shook her head, “Not me.”
