Chapter 1028
How much he wished he could’ve been there that sweltering summer day, to shield her from those two dogs rushing up to her, to show her that there were people in this world who would help and love her.
Estelle didn’t struggle, but fended off the man’s advances with a composed expression. He was more unsettling than the dogs behind him.
Soon, the elevator stopped at the sixteenth floor. The woman holding the dogs sneaked a peek at the entwined couple before taking her dogs and leaving.
Once the elevator doors closed, Estelle immediately stepped out of the man’s embrace and turned to face the elevator doors.
Jonathan leaned against the elevator wall, his gaze never leaving her retreating figure.
The elevator stopped again. Estelle stepped out with Jonathan following close behind.

“You don’t need to explain anything to me, go explain to your girlfriend!” Estelle retorted coldly.
Jonathan paused for a moment, “I don’t have a girlfriend, I only have a wife.”
“Not for long!”
Again, Jonathan was left speechless.
When Charlie came down, he found Jonathan smoking in the driver’s seat.

“I saw ber!” Jonathan put out his cigarette and tossed it. The butt landed perfectly in the trash can.
His voice was low, “Get in the car.”
Charlie got into the passenger seat and chuckled, “You knew she didn’t want to see you, yet you still went looking for trouble. How does that feel?”
Jonathan turned to look at him, suddenly asking, “Did Kya like your gift?”
“Of course she did!” Charlie’s eyes lit up at the mention of Kya, “Did Estelle give you a hard time?”
