Chapter 1034
Gwen took the fancy water from her assistant and handed it to Estelle, smiling kindly, “It’s burning up here, take a break! This bottle is from our sponsor, it’s some top–notch stuff, really sweet!”
“I don’t need it.” Estelle replied with an icy demeanor.
Gwen retracted her hand awkwardly, suggesting, “It’s too hot here. How about we chill in my dressing room for a bit?”
“Do you need something from me?” Estelle eyed her.
Gwen knew no sweet talk would sway Estelle, so she got right to the point, “Estelle, do you know KING?”
“No.”
Gwen’s assistant, Darcey, was visibly upset. Who dared to talk to Gwen like that on the set?
She was pissed that Estelle didn’t appreciate Gwen’s kindness, and was about to snap back, but Gwen’s glance stopped her. Gwen continued with her gentle smile, “Estelle, I am talking business here. Can we temporarily put our personal beef aside?” Estelle continued with her own thing, calmly saying, “If you have something to say, spit it out. No need for meaningless chit–chat.”
Gwen’s face showed a hint of embarrassment, but her smile was even more cordial, “I have a charity gala coming up in a few days. I want KING to design a gown for me. Can you help me get in touch with him? Don’t worry, regardless of whether this works out or not, my agent will offer you a hefty reward.”
Estelle glanced at Gwen, calmly saying, “I haven’t been at the studio long and I’ve been working outside a lot, I hardly know KING, I’m afraid I can’t be of much help.”
“Just give me KING’s contact info, I’ll handle it myself.”
“I don’t have it.”
Gwen’s face darkened a bit, and her assistant Darcey couldn’t hold back anymore, “Estelle, don’t reject our good will. Gwen is the one of the most popular celebrities right now, and tons of designers would kill to dress her. Gwen only wants to give KING a shot because of you.”
Gwen turned to Estelle, “Estelle, I just want KING’s contact. That’s not too much to ask, is it?”
Estelle’s eyes were beautifully cold like a painting, “I don’t have it, but you’re insisting I give it to you. Tell me if it’s too much or not?”
Gwen’s smile gradually faded, her eyes filled with a hint of cold and gloom, “Estelle, do we really need to be at odds like this?”
“Do you think we can be friends?” Estelle sneered suddenly, “You play innocent every day, aren’t you tired?”
Gwen’s face turned pale, her embarrassment and coldness clearly visible. She stared at Estelle, then turned around and left.
Darcey, trailing behind, also shot Estelle a dirty look.
Back in her own dressing room, Gwen was informed by the director’s assistant that she was up for the next scene. She took a few deep breaths, let the makeup artist touch up her makeup, then changed into her costume.
