Chapter 1105

Carson poured her a drink, “Even though I’m not exactly a one-woman man, I don’t date two women at the same time. You can chill, while we’re engaged, I won’t be messing around with any other woman. I just ran into an ex-girlfriend earlier, that’s

all.”

Marina looked at him, shocked.

Carson frowned, “What’s with the look?”

“Your ex still has a thing for you. That means you’re a good guy!” Marina said sincerely.

Just as a smile started to curve Carson’s lips, he suddenly felt something was off and turned to her, “Are you being sarcastic?”

“No!” Marina quickly shook her head, “My ex and I are like cats and dogs, and we can’t stand each other, so managing to stay friendly after a breakup, that speaks volumes about your character!”

She gave Carson a thumbs up.

Carson, unable to figure out what she was really thinking, laughed and asked, “You said earlier that you broke up with your boyfriend because his first love came back? What’s that about?”

“The girl he liked before dating me found him, so he dumped me on the spot and ran back to her!” Marina said casually, taking a sip of her drink.

Carson scoffed, “Why didn’t you fight for him. What a pushover!”

“They’re already sleeping together!” Marina replied slowly.

“So what, haven’t you had sex with your ex?” Carson said nonchalantly, “Everybody has an equal shot at love.” Marina almost laughed, he had the nerve to talk about love! She downed the rest of her drink and snorted, “What am I supposed to do with a jerk like him, use him as an emetic when I’m dieting?”

Carson nearly choked on his drink, laughing, “As long as you’re okay with it!”

“I’ve been okay with it for a long time!”

Marina grabbed the bottle and poured Carson a drink, “Tell me about your ex, let me learn how to steer clear of jerks.” They chatted and drank, feeling like they’d known each other for ages. After several bottles, it was almost dawn.

When Marina woke up the next day, she had a splitting headache and a stiff neck. She opened her eyes to find herself in Carson’s arms and quickly pulled away. They had both gotten drunk and fell asleep on the carpet, somehow ending up in each other’s arms.

Thankfully, her clothes were intact and nothing had happened.

Marina rubbed her aching head, ignored Carson on the floor, and dashed to the bathroom for a shower. After she came out, Carson was on the couch making a phone call. His shirt was unbuttoned at the top, one arm rested on his bent knee, lounging casually with a smile on his handsome face.
