Chapter 1112
When he first started dating Marina, she would always get super nervy whenever he was around, like he was some kind of dangerous wild beast. He figured it was just shyness. But now she was smooching another guy in public!
Freddy was so pissed off he was seeing stars, his vision went dark and he dropped like a sack of potatoes on whoever was supporting him.
Sitting in the audience, Cindy jumped up in shock, staring wide-eyed at Marina. She had thought she’d won Freddy over, had outplayed Marina, but who was this guy?
She had noticed him on the field earlier. Tall, handsome, and clearly the leader of his team, he was way out of Freddy’s league in both physical and mental strength.
So, he was Marina’s boyfriend?
Wasn’t Marina crazy about Freddy? How did she suddenly end up with a new, better boyfriend?
After a moment, Carson let go of Marina, gently brushed her lips with his thumb, looked at her slowly reddening eyes, and chuckled, “Helped you get back at him, I deserve some reward!”
Marina’s mind was a mess, unable to think straight as she looked at Carson’s handsome face.
Carson waved to Jonathan and Charlie, then turned and left.
Marina instinctively looked to her left and caught sight of Cindy staring at her with intense hatred. Cindy’s eyes were filled with venomous animosity as she glared at Marina like a snake.
Marina sat back down, her expression dazed.
Estelle handed her a bottle of water and chuckled, “Calm down!”
Marina took a sip of water and, feeling slightly more composed, suddenly remembered the look in Carson’s eyes when he kissed her. The teasing smile hidden deep within.
Wait!
Marina gripped the water bottle tighter. Carson did it on purpose, he was getting back at her! After winning the game and embarrassing Freddy, he had no reason to kiss her!
Estelle nodded thoughtfully, “It’s definitely complicated.”
Interpersonal relationships were always her biggest headache!
Jonathan took advantage of the moment to grab her hand and said gently with a smile, “Don’t you think you’re lucky to be marrying me? My family is simple, and we get along well. My mother and sister like you, and Norah and Henson like you, so you might consider coming home with me.”
Estelle looked at him coldly and said with a faint smile, “I’m on my own, even simpler.”
Jonathan smiled gently and said, “Darling, nobody can be alone forever, everyone needs love, family, and friendship.”
Estelle, “I already have those!”
Jonathan was left speechless.
