Chapter 1223

The door across the way just got a fancy new upgrade: a high-end silver-gray security door, complete with a picture frame-like decoration smack in the middle. It’s super modern-looking

The door really stands out, so Estelle couldn’t help but sneak a few extra peeks in the morning as she headed out

In the evening, as she was coming back from work, stepping out of the elevator, and heading home, she heard a voice from behind her say, “Knocked off work already?”

Estelle whirled around in surprise, but there was nobody behind her.

The picture frame on the door across from hers had opened up, though, revealing a screen about the size of an iPad. Grinning at Estelle from the screen was a fluffy, animated character.

A big, round, fluffy Totorol

Estelle looked puzzled as she moved closer. “Are you talking to me?”

“Who else could it be? There’s no one else here!” The animated character on the screen laughed and said, “Let me introduce myself, Fm Dragon, member #28976 of The Sky Robot Family I’ll be your neighbor from now on, so let’s be friends!”

Estelle began to understand. This was a kind of robotic intelligence system designed to look after the house for its owner

She found it intriguing: “What can you do?”

1 watch the door for the owner, understand the owner’s needs, and can even handle neighborhood relationships. I can also order food delivery, make phone calls, and find housekeepers. If the owner gets sick, I can schedule doctor’s appointments. Basically, I can do anything you can think off”

Dragon proudly declared, doing a happy little flip in place as he spoke.

Estelle found this all the more interesting: “Has your owner moved in yet?”

“Not yet. It will be a while before the owner can move in. In the meantime, I’m here to establish a good relationship with you, so we can get along well in the future!” Dragon declared earnestly

Estelle couldn’t help but laugh. “Is that something your owner told you to do, or something you decided on your own?”

“I don’t need the owner to tell me. It’s just something I should do for the owner!”

Estelle nodded, chuckling. “Your owner must be a programmer, right?”

He must be a pretty fun programmer too!

Dragon responded, “That’s confidential, it’s about the owner’s privacy. But you’re so pretty, I’m sure he’ll tell you himself when you meet him!” “Why are you so cute?”

“Being cute is part of my job!”

Estelle burst into laughter again

On the screen, behind Dragon, was what looked like a manor, filled with many little robots like Dragon, all busy at work.

“What are those?” Estelle pointed at the screen. The robot she pointed at suddenly cried out, “Don’t touch me, I’m busy!”

Then it got up and ran away

Estelle’s eyes widened in surprise.

Dragon, still on the screen, laughed, “They’re all members of The Sky Robot Family. They’re all working for the owner.”

Estelle was amazed: “That’s so high-tech!”

It turned out that robots have their own unique world too.

Her phone rang. It was a call from Emily, probably telling her to come down for dinner.

Estelle waved goodbye to Dragon, saying, “I gotta go eat. See you later
