Chapter 1261

The sound insulation effect of this type of house had always been poor.

As Charlie headed to the bathroom, a sudden image popped into his head. The thought of him and Emily using the same shower gel threw him for a loop.

He was only tipsy initially, but now he was already half drunk.

It seemed ages before the bathroom went silent, the door next door closed, and the hallway light was snuffed out.

Listening to the sound of the door closing next door, Charlie was a bit miffed. Shouldn’t she have checked on him before bedtime? After all, he was a guest staying at her place. Why didn’t she come over to see if he was comfortable or at least say goodnight?

She really didn’t give a damn about him!

Charlie was bummed out and pissed at himself for sticking around. He tossed and turned until late at night before falling asleep.

After sleeping, who knew how long, he got up to pee. Not being his house, he couldn’t find the hallway switch, bumbled his way in, then bumbled his way out, and pushed open the door to go back to sleep.

Getting to the bed, he peeled back the covers and lay down. After a while, he realized something was off.

He was holding a woman in his arms.

The first thought that came to his mind was, which cheeky lass had crawled into his bed this time!”

With a frown, Charlie’shoved the woman, and said in a low voice, “Get out before I lose my mind!”

Emily woke up with the push, felt a presence on the bed, immediately sat up, instinctively leaned back to protect herself, and asked nervously, “Who is it?” Charlie also sat up, looking at Emily in the darkness, his mind slowly clearing. He couldn’t help but get mad, “Emily? What are you doing in my bed?”

Emily, both embarrassed and angry, kicked him hard, “Is this your bed?”

Charlie, sitting on the edge of the bed, rolled off with Emily’s kick.

Emily was startled and reached out to grab him. Charlie instinctively grabbed her hand before falling off the bed, and they both tumbled off the bed.

Emily landed in Charlie’s arms. He rolled over and pressed her under him.

Luckily, Emily, fearing Kya might roll off the bed while sleeping, had laid out a carpet on the floor. The two fell on the carpet, not hurting much..

After a moment, Emily immediately pushed him, “Get up!”

“Don’t move!” Charlie said tensely.

Emily thought he was hurt, immediately stopped moving, and asked carefully, “Did you get hurt?”

The room was pitch black, and they were unable to see each other’s faces. Someone’s heartbeat was stronger and stronger.

Charlie was half lying on Emily, his body tense, his brow furrowed, somewhat angrily. He looked at her coldly, “What are you doing in my room?”

Emily stared, “This is my room. You’ve wandered into the wrong one!”

Charlie gradually relaxed, leaned down, his head next to her face, and said softly, “Really? Who knew your place was so small. I could get lost just going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.”

“You insisted on staying!” Emily muttered.

“Weren’t you the one who wouldn’t let me leave?”
