Chapter 1340

Everyone had a good chuckle before settling down to order their meals.

Harriet poured wine for everyone and grinned as she said, “This one’s for our undying friendship.”

“Cheers!” Sophia responded with a sweet smile on her face.

Estelle and Jason clinked their glasses together and downed half of their drinks in one go.

Harriet turned to Sophia, “You’re not planning on leaving again this time, are you?”

“I’m not leaving!” Sophia declared firmly. “I’ve been around the block and there’s really no place better than J City”

Harriet raised an eyebrow, “What about that special someone of yours? Has he returned to J City, too?”

“Special someone?” Estelle raised an eyebrow, clearly unaware of some things.

Harriet revealed, “You really thought Sophia went to M Country for studies? She actually went there to chase after that guy”

Sophia blushed but also beamed with pride, “Now I don’t have to chase him anymore, I’ve got him.”

Jason gave Sophia a blank stare. As he lowered his head, a shadow fell across his face.

“Ah, I see!” Harriet chuckled.

“Who is this guy? How come I didn’t know?” Estelle asked in surprise.

Harriet teased, “He was a classmate of Sophia’s in college. She’s had a crush on him for three years and even followed him to M Country. Talk about persistence!”

Sophia looked a little embarrassed, “I didn’t deliberately keep it from you. You were still young back then. How could I talk about love with you? Old Mr. Quintin would’ve scolded me for leading you astray.”

Estelle was left speechless.

Jason asked, “Did you two come back together?”

“Yes!” Sophia responded with joy, “He originally planned to stay in M Country, but I wanted to return, so he came back with me.”

Harriet told Estelle, “You have no idea how hard Sophia worked to win this guy over. If I were him, I would’ve been moved by her ages ago.”

Sophia was a little shy but also honest, “Love requires courage.”

Estelle asked, “What’s his name?”

“Robin Ziegler!” Sophia said proudly

“Why didn’t you bring him to this gathering?”

“I wanted to bring him, but his startup is just getting off the ground and he’s super busy. Next time, I’ll definitely bring him so you guys can meet.” Every time Sophia mentioned Robin, her eyes filled with happiness.

Harriet explained, “Robin started his own business in college and has done really well in M Country. But the fact that he would give up his career there to return with Sophia shows how much he cares about her”

Estelle finally understood why Sophia seemed so proud and happy every time she talked about Robin,

Jason raised his glass to clink with Sophia and chuckled, “Now that you’ve got him, you won’t be yapping in my ear about him all the time. My ears were about to grow callouses.”

Sophia was a senior in college at that time and had been in love with Robin for two years.
