Chapter 1575

“I ain’t scared of jack, not even dying. So what’s there left to be scared of?” Shawn’s attitude seemed beyond the point of no return.

Gina was livid, so much so her face turned white. She took a moment to compose herself before speaking, “Elliott’s wife is pregnant now. Your presence would just cause trouble. Go to Emily. She’s raising the child alone.”

Shawn nodded instantly, “Sure, where’s Emily living now?”

Gina stated frostily, “I’ll give you the address. Go find her! The neighbors will be here soon, don’t make a scene here!”

“Sure!” Shawn nodded continuously, “Give me the address, I’ll go right away. But I’m broke, could you spare me some cash? I want to buy something for Emily.”

Gina gave him an angry glare, reluctantly transferring him eighty dollars from her phone.

Shawn left, satisfied.

However, he didn’t go to Emily. Instead, he spent the eighty dollars on a lavish meal and then snuck into a casino.

On Monday, Emily got home from work and heard a man’s voice inside. She rushed in and was stunned to see the man sitting and laughing with Kya in the living room.

“Mommy!” Kya ran over and hugged her leg, giggling, “Grandpa’s here!”

Shawn, now in a somewhat cleaner outfit, stood up and smiled at Emily, “Emily!”

Emily’s mind was buzzing, her face full of surprise.

Ms. Simmons walked out of the kitchen and smiled at Emily, “Emily, your dad’s here! He’s been waiting for you all afternoon.”

Emily nodded somewhat dazedly, looking at Shawn, “Can I talk to you for a minute?”

Shawn gave Ms. Simmons a smile, and then followed Emily into the bedroom.

Emily closed the door softly, asking in a low voice, “What are you doing here?”

Shawn seemed a bit uncomfortable, “I’ve been working out of town these years. Got fired a couple of months ago when I injured my leg. I had no choice but to come back home.”

Emily asked, “How did you know I live here?”

“Your mother told me,” Shawn replied.

“My mother?” Emily asked in shock.

“Yeah,” Shawn explained why Gina had sent him to find Emily.

Emily was taken aback. Just the other day, her sister-in-law was complaining about not being able to have a baby because Elliott was always drinking How could she be pregnant now? So, her mother must have sent her father to her to avoid him disrupting their life.

Emily felt a chill in her heart.

She looked at Shawn, “What do you want from me? Money?”

“No” Shawn quickly replied. “Your mother wouldn’t tell me where she lives. Thave nowhere to stay, so I had to come to you I’ll stay here for a few days until I find a job”

“What job could you possibly find?” Emily asked

Shawn hung his head sent

After a tret pause Shawn asked Emily “How’d you end up with a kid? I heard from Ms. Simmons there’s a Mr. Charlie who often comes by, is he the one from the Royal Mansion? Is Kya his child?”.
