Chapter 1601

The two made their way down the corridor, a man and woman exiting a private room ahead of them, their backs to Magdalen as they walked side by side.

Magdalen watched the man’s retreating figure, her pace stalling and her gaze dropping. She called out, “Morrison!”

Morrison turned, the wall lamp casting a warm yellow light on his gold-rimmed glasses, emitting a faint metallic sheen. His gaze swept over Kevin, settled on Magdalen and he said lightly, “I was just about to call you!”

The girl at his side wore a pastel green knee-length dress, her chestnut curls tied up in a ponytail. Her face was delicate, her skin fair and her eyes curved in a playful scowl, “Magdalen!”

“Antonia!”

Magdalen laughed and greeted her, moving to loop an arm through Morrison’s. Her eyes sparkled, “Ella and the others are here. Do you want to go say hi?”

Antonia quickly understood, “Morrison, you go with Magdalen. I’ll head home myself.

“Okay, call me when you get home!” Morrison said.

“Got it!” Antonia winked playfully at Morrison, clutching her handbag as she walked on.

Estelle emerged just then, in search of Magdalen, crossing paths with Antonia. She clearly saw the flicker of coldness in the girl’s expression as she turned away. She raised an eyebrow, watching Antonia a little more closely.

Antonia brushed past Estelle, walking down the corridor and quickly disappearing.

Once Antonia was gone, the smile on Magdalen’s face faded gradually. She ignored Morrison, striding directly towards Estelle.

Morrison pressed his lips together, following her.

Back in the private room, Estelle introduced Morrison to Charlie and the others, everyone was familiar with each other in their circle. Carson and the rest warmly welcomed Morrison, making room for him..

Magdalen sat in a wicker chair on the terrace, lifting her glass to take a big gulp of her drink.

Estelle sat across from her, “What’s the deal with that girl just now?”

Magdalen’s gaze was cold, “Just a bitch, no big deal!”

Estelle turned to look at the night outside, not pressing the matter any further

When the gathering ended, Charlie, carrying Kya, headed to his car Emily had no choice but to follow

Morrison hadn’t been drinking, he drove Magdalen home himself. Magdalen hugged Estelle, whispering as they parted, “You’ll be fine with Jonathan, don’t worry about me. I can handle it.”

Estelle nodded slightly, “You have to let me know if anything comes up”

“Of course!” Magdalen smiled, letting go of Estelle, turning to walk towards Morrison.

Back at their shared private condo, Magdalen changed her shoes and headed straight upstairs.

Morrison followed, grabbing her arm, “Magdalen!”
