Chapter 1622

Gavin chimed in, “The transaction records, the photos of Ms. Sullivan meeting Mr. Walton, and the photos of someone sending gifts to her. Do you believe all these are coincidentally captured? Have any of you considered the possibility that someone might be intentionally framing Ms. Sullivan and Horizon Enterprises, using it as a means to knock Horizon out of the bidding project? You’re all smart and I believe you can see the hidden schemes.”

Gavin’s words made the representatives appear suddenly enlightened and contemplative.

It did seemed too coincidental. Moreover, what was even more suspicious was that the fact they had all received the anonymous email accusing Emily and Horizon Enterprises at the same time. Who was behind all of this?

Could it be Horizon Enterprises after all!

Initially, these four companies were united in their desire to demand explanations from the James Group. However, at this moment, they began to suspect that any of them might be involved.

Mr. Larry scoffed, “Mr. Gavin, don’t try to mislead us. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. If Emily were truly innocent, it wouldn’t be so much evidence against her.”

Gavin responded firmly, “There are too many doubts in this case. I promised I would give you an explanation, and I will. Please give us some time and don’t let yourself be used as tools by others”

At this point, the representatives became less angry and impulsive. They began to calm down and asked, “When will you provide us with an explanation, Mr. Gavin?”

“Will the bidding process continue?”

The matter had a severe impact. We hope the James Group won’t escalate the matter further but sincerely resolve it.”

Gavin explained to them one by one, and the representatives finally regained their composure.

There was nothing more to be said at this point. Gavin asked his assistant escort the representatives out and took Emily back to the thirty-ninth floor.

Gavin pressed the elevator button and smiled at Emily, “You really impressed me back there!”

“Well?” Emily widened her eyes, “What did I do?”

Gavin gazed at her with amusement, “You were so composed. I thought you might be frightened by them, but you presented your evidence logically and stayed composed throughout. That’s really commendable!”

Emily raised an eyebrow and laughed, “That’s because I’m innocent. And besides, I have you by my side, right, Mr. Gavin?”

Gavin nodded, “Don’t worry, Mr. James won’t let anyone bully you.”

Emily felt a bit embarrassed, puzzled by Gavin’s repeated mention of Charlie. She bit her lip and said softly. “I’ve caused a lot of trouble for the company due to my carelessness. And it’s made people question Mr. James’s judgement.

She looked at Gavin with determination in her eyes, “I will investigate it and offer a satisfactory explanation to the company and the bidders.”

Gavin grinned, “Good, I’ll convey that to Mr. James.”

When the elevator doors opened, Emily followed Gavin without further comment.

In the evening, when Emily returned home, she immediately asked Ms. Simmons if anyone had send anything in the past few days.

“You know about it?” Ms. Simmons looked surprised.
