Chapter 1632

It was a fine Friday when the James family convened a meeting with bidders.

Gavin had explicitly instructed the staff from Starlight Corporation to ensure that their head representative Waters, should be in attendance.

The meeting began promptly at 10 AM, with all four companies’ representatives in attendance except for Horizon Enterprises.

As Charlie and his people entered, the room was abuzz with whispers of how the James family would handle the situation. Upon his arrival, everyone stood up and greeted them with respect and courtesy

“Mr. James, Mr. Gavin!”

“Has Mr. James called us here for to discuss the resolution?”

“What does Mr. James plan to do about Emily?”

Charlie gestured for then to take their seats, his handsome face exuding warmth and composure, “Regarding the leak of the reserve, we have made some progress in our investigation. You’ve all been waiting for an answer. Today, we’ll provide you with our findings.”

Gavin chimed in, “Through Our investigation, we’ve found that the allegations about Emily accepting a transfer of three hundred thousand dollars and valuable gifts from Horizon Enterprises are completely baseless.”

Upon hearing this, the representatives exchanged glances, their expressions varying.

Mr. Larry, who was seated next to Waters, immediately retorted, “How can we believe that what you’re saying is true? The James family is a well-established enterprise and your reputation is of utmost important. We’ve collaborated with you because of your integrity. You can’t simply throw out excuses to deceive us!”

Gavin smirked, “I haven’t finish the statement, Mr. Larry. No need to be so hasty?

Chagrined, Mr. Larry gave a glance at Waters and fell silent.

Waters, wearing a thin smile, said after casting a glance at Charlie, “Mr. Gavin claims Emily was framed by someone. We’re all ears if you’d like to share by whom and for what purpose.”

Gavin responded, “Emily has already explained the full context of the three hundred thousand transfer and we’ve also checked her personal account, finding no irregularities. As for the photos which showed Emily’s family accepting valuable items, we’ve conducted an investigation. Someone intentionally impersonated our staff and delivered the gifts to Emily’s house in the name of Mr. James. The intent to frame Emily is quite clear.” Mr. Matz from the Iriver Group’ queried, “Who would do this, and what is the motive?”

“Framing Emily and undermining Horizon Enterprises; two birds, one stone,” Gavin glanced at Waters. “Do you think I’m correct, Ms. Waters?” Waters’s face turned pale, and he retorted with a cold smile, it wasn’t me. Why is Mr. Gavin questioning me? Besides, do you have any evidence for this statement? We can’t just believe it based solely on your or Emily’ words.

“Of course, we have evidence,” Gavin responded calmly. “We’ve checked the security footage from Emily’s apartment and identified the person who delivered the gifts to her. Although she was cautious, wearing sunglasses to conceal her face, we could still discern her body shape and facial contours. Does she look familiar to you, Waters?”

As Gavin spoke, he cast the photo onto the conference screen behind him.

He then displayed another photo of Waters with an assistant at a company ribbon-cutting event.
