Chapter 1670

The meeting officially kicked off. Jonathan, in a nonchalant manner, was slouched against his chair, a lollipop lodged in his mouth. He listened attentively as Chuck and others discussed project proposals, his gaze occasionally drifting to Estelle, where it would linger for a few seconds.

Estelle, on the other hand, pulled out her draft. With a pencil in one hand, she traced the outlines slowly and deliberately.

As time went by, the meeting progressed smoothly.

While the planning department presented their report, Jonathan opened a bottle of water and placed it in front of Estelle. She picked up the water without even raising her head, took a sip, and continued with her work.

The manager of the planning department paused, a chill running down his spine as Jonathan’s gaze met his. He quickly regained his focus and carried on with his presentation.

The company’s executives, realizing Jonathan’s apparent disapproval of anyone sneaking glances at Estelle, decided to avoid doing so. The meeting went on more intensely than usual.

Jonathan’s concentration during the meeting was absolute. However, the juxtaposition of his lollipop and his suit and tie attire was amusing. Chuck and his colleagues unanimously agreed that their usually stern and sharp boss had transformed into a charming and playful CEO for the day!

Halfway through the meeting, when Estelle took a break to drink some water, she overheard Chuck saying, “After finalizing the collaboration project with the Crawley family, they’ve been very satisfied, ringing us multiple times to send a representative over as soon as possible.”

Estelle’s eyes narrowed slightly, a sense of unease settling in her heart. She didn’t listen any further. Instead, she lowered her head and carried on with her

work.

The meeting lasted almost two hours. Estelle was used to sitting for hours while working on her designs, so she didn’t feel the time drag. However, she had consumed a lot of water and had to excuse herself to the restroom.

While washing her hands, she heard the click-clack of high heels approaching. Soon, Sabina appeared in the doorway, a look of surprise in her eyes. Ignoring Sabina, Estelle dried her hands and turned to leave. But Sabina stepped in her way. “I just asked Kally why she didn’t accompany Mr. Lamont to the meeting. She said someone else went instead. Was that you?”

Estelle looked at her, her expression cold. “Yes, it was me. Is there a problem?”

Sabina let out a mocking laugh, “What is it, trying to worm your way into the Lamont Group to get close to Mr. Lamont? Isn’t being a celebrity designer good enough? Why the obsession with Mr. Lamont?”

“Isn’t being the CEO’s secretary good enough for you?” Estelle countered. “Why are you interfering in my business?”

A flicker of annoyance crossed Sabina’s arrogant face. “Alright, let’s not talk about Mr. Lamont. Did you have a conflict with Antonia? Do you know how much effort my grandfather has put into the B City project? Your actions may ruin everything he’s worked for! Can’t you consider others before you act?”

“The Macclain family’s business is none of my concern” Estelle’s expression was indifferent.

“Estelle, you really are heartless. Is it because you’ve never experienced warmth and affection? You’re always so selfish and cold! My grandfather has called you numerous times. He deserves some respect. He is, after all, your elder. How long are you going to keep this up? Don’t forget that you’re still a Macclain!”
