Antonia’s youthful voice rang out, a touch of contempt coloring her laughter, “Not bad, you still remember me! Did you get fired by Mr. Tucker and now you’re out of work? I’ll ask you again, do you want to design a dress for me? This is my final offer, and if you agree, you can start working on the set immediately. I won’t skimp on the promised payment, and we can forget about any previous unpleasantness.” 

Estelle rose to her feet, heading towards the balcony. The sun danced on her perfect features, yet it failed to thaw the icy stare in her eyes, “I don’t have the time nor the interest, and even if I did, I wouldn’t do it for you, because you’re not worthy of my designs!” 

Her words seemed to drop the temperature on the other end of the line, “Estelle, you better remember what you said today. Don’t regret it!” 

“The only thing I regret is picking up your call this morning. It ruined my day!” Estelle retorted coldly, ending the call. 

A text message quickly popped up on her screen, [Estelle, I’ll be waiting for you to beg me!] 

Estelle immediately blocked Antonia’s number. 

Around noon, a post surfaced online titled, “An In-depth Exploration of KING’s Past”. 

The post meticulously detailed Estelle’s upbringing. Born in a small village in C City over two decades ago, she was mistreated by her parents who favored boys over girls. This led to her sour demeanor and reclusive nature. At the tender age of five, her parents died in a car accident, and she was sent to an orphanage. 

The post’s author claimed to have investigated the circumstances of her parents’ accident. Apparently, they were driving into town to sell farm goods when their brakes failed, causing them to collide with an oncoming truck. The impact was so severe that they were pronounced dead at the scene, their bodies mangled beyond recognition. 

According to Estelle’s supposed younger brother, he saw her fiddling with a pair of scissors near their tricycle the night before their parents’ fatal accident. The post insinuated that Estelle may have tampered with the brakes, intending for her parents’ demise. 

After the death of her parents, Estelle and her brother were sent to an orphanage. There, Estelle remained for a year, refusing to interact with anyone, exhibiting signs of severe introversion. 

Later, she was adopted by an elderly man from C City. However, due to financial struggles, she couldn’t afford school. It was only thanks to the generous sponsorship from a wealthy family in J City that she was able to complete high school, despite her abysmal performance in her final exams. 

The wealthy family then took her in as a foster daughter and moved her to J City to repeat her final year. Once the proverbial small-town girl in a big city, she frequently got into fights, even landing a few classmates in the hospital. Her foster parents had to pay off the school 

administration to prevent her expulsion after she scored a pitiful thirty-something on her 

exams. 

Later, Estelle became a protege of the renowned Old Mr. Quintin, thanks to her foster parents’ financial backing. 

Under Old Mr. Quintin’s guidance, Estelle’s talent in design shone through. Gradually, through Quintin’s connections, she started to participate in international fashion shows and slowly made a name for herself. 

However, upon gaining fame, Estelle distanced herself from her foster parents. She was cold and indifferent towards them, even telling them that her success had nothing to do with them and that they should stop trying to bask in her glory.
