Chapter 234
Estelle sat opposite him, opening the wine she brought and filling his glass, “I’m not afraid of you bullying me, I’m just afraid of getting tricked by you again.”
Manley laughed, “What else would I trick you with? I can’t have two birthdays a year!”
Estelle retorted, “Are you saying you can’t pull that off?”
Manley gulped down the wine she poured, his black earring shimmering with a seductive luster. He laughed, “Next time, I’ll say it’s my mom’s birthday.”
Estelle replied coldly, “No matter whose birthday it is, I won’t help you send a cake again!”
“Pffft!” Manley spurted out the wine and quickly wiped it with a tissue, laughing uncontrollably at Estelle.
Manley coughed twice, his eyes shining with laughter, “Stop being you cute! Or else, I might think you’re trying to seduce me!”
Estelle glared at him with anger, her gaze warning him.
Manley just laughed, “I’m done teasing you. Let’s talk about something else, what are you doing here?”
Estelle said indifferently, “Working. Can’t you tell?”
“I mean, why are you working here?” Manley wanted to laugh again. Somehow, he always wanted to laugh when talking with Estelle. Even if she ignored him, he found her hilarious.
If he could get her mad, he’d be even happier!
Estelle didn’t know what Manley was laughing at and thought he was a bit neurotic, “It’s a summer part–time job, do I need any other reasons?”
“Aren’t you with Jonathan?” Manley asked curiously, “Is the money he gives you not enough? Or are you guys playing some role–playing game?”
Manley leaned forward, gazing at Estelle through the dim light, and flirted jokingly. “Come with me instead. I’m more generous than Jonathan and I can treat you better. I won’t bear to let you work. I can let you live in a villa, drive a luxury car, wear luxury jewelry, carry designer bags, and have ten servants to serve you every day. Whatever you want, I’ll buy for you. Wherever you want to go, I’ll accompany you. You can spend my money as you please, what do you say?”
Manley gently nodded, “I just need you to help me spend my money. As long as it’s you, even if my money runs out, I won’t feel heartache!”
Manley smiled even more softly, “why am I pathetic?”
Manley choked.
He gritted his teeth but couldn’t get mad. He chuckled, “I’m not joking with you, I’m serious. If you dump Jonathan and follow me, I promise to fulfill everything I just said.”
Estelle looked at him calmly, “How serious? As serious as the last time you had me send a cake to the girl you were pursuing?”
Manley, “…”
He showed a helpless expression, “I made a mistake last time, and I apologize to you. Can we forget about that?”
Estelle was also generous, nodding, “You helped me out with Lucille Hammer’s issue once, so let’s call it even for the cake thing. Thanks for standing up for me today, too! This bottle of wine is my gift to you!”
Manley said cheerfully, “That’s my girl Estelle! I’ll drink to you! But I’m paying for the wine, don’t refuse me!”
