Chapter 407
Charlie glanced back at Emily’s blushing face and laughed, “Don’t get me wrong. If I didn’t hold your hand, that lady might have caught up with us and accused me of only caring about the ingredients. and not the person!”
Emily couldn’t help but giggle, and her previous embarrassment dissipated quite a bit. She said with a smile, “she is very enthusiastic, don’t take her words to heart.”
“It’s fine.” Charlie pushed the cart forward.
In order to prevent Emily from arguing with him during checkout, he had topped up 20,000 dollars in membership the last time, so they could directly pay with the membership.
After checking out, he carried two large bags filled with stuff and walked out.
Emily quickly tried to take one of the bags from his hand, “Let me carry one.”
“Absolutely not!” Charlie said seriously, “We’re still within the sight of that lady!”
Emily couldn’t hold it in and laughed with her hand covering her mouth.
When they returned to the Royal Mansion, Emily went to her own room to change, then brought the ingredients to the kitchen to cook, and also called Estelle to ask if she had dinner yet. If not, she invited her to come downstairs.
Estelle was already at Xavier’s and told her she had eaten.
After hanging up, Charlie entered the kitchen, “Is there anything I can help with?”
“You don’t need to, just rest for a while, I can handle it myself!” Emily replied.
“Every time you do all the cooking, I feel guilty. Just tell me if there’s anything I can help with!” Charlie said, taking the ingredients out of the bags, “should I wash these?”
“Yes,” Emily handed him a basket, “wash it and put it here.”
Charlie went over to the sink and started washing the vegetables.
He had taken off his suit and was wearing a white shirt, with his sleeves rolled up, looking elegant and refined, completely mismatching his current vegetable–washing action.
Emily wanted to laugh and turned her head pretending to get something.
Charlie glanced at her, wondering why she always laughed so easily.
Did he seem funny to her?
He washed the vegetables as slowly as he would write a poem or draw a picture. He spent a good five minutes on just two carrots, almost rubbing off their color completely.
Emily bit her lip and giggled silently, not minding his slow pace.
After washing the carrots, Charlie put them in the basket and asked softly, “Have you seen Estelle recently?”
Emily turned to him, “Yeah, we had breakfast together this morning.”
“Do you know what she’s been busy with lately?” Charlie asked.
