Chapter 618
Yvonne sometimes thinks that this girl is too calm, not at all like the mentality girls her age and experience should have.
“You probably haven’t heard, but Jonathan was actually married once.”
Estelle wasn’t as surprised as Yvonne had expected, and just calmly said, “I know!”
Yvonne was taken aback and felt a bit bitter, awkwardly laughing, “He told you this too?”
She paused and lightly smiled, “Then you definitely don’t know why he got married.”
Estelle looked at her curiously, wondering if there was another reason besides the agreement with the Macclain family.
“Why?”
Yvonne slowly explained, “I’ve known Jonathan since I was five, along with Charlie and Josiah. We basically grew up together. When I was in college, Jonathan and I both had crush on each other, but we never confessed. I was too young and enjoyed the ambiguity and feeling of being protected by him. Until the day I graduated from college four years ago, when he suddenly proposed to me.”
Estelle was stunned, Jonathan had proposed to Yvonne?
Yvonne’s eyes were gentle, but with a hint of regret, “But at that time, I was set on going abroad to study and enter the entertainment industry, so I rejected him.”
*Jonathan was heartbroken and impulsively married another woman! I knew he didn’t love her and that the marriage was just to make me jealous. He then left J City and didn’t return for three whole years!”
Estelle lowered her eyes, surprised at Jonathan’s experience before going abroad-he married her to make Yvonne jealous?
“Charlie told me that after I came back, Jonathan had already agreed to divorce his wife. I think it was for me!”
She had met Lucille before returning to their home country. Lucille advised her, if she still liked Jonathan, to return home as soon as possible and also mentioned some strange things, which she hadn’t understood at the time. Only later did she realize that Jonathan was probably with Estelle by then.
Estelle chuckled lightly, “She said the same thing to me, so who exactly is the Lamont family’s chosen future daughter-in-law?”
Yvonne’s face immediately changed, “Estelle, you’re overconfident!”
Estelle shook her head, “No, I just hope you’ll come to your senses and stop indulging in the past. You gave up on Jonathan back then, and it was over between you two!”
Yvonne seemed to have been struck where it hurts, her face turning gloomy, but her back remained straight, “Do you think your few months with Jonathan can compare to our many years of feelings?” She stood up, “I kindly reminded you, but if you don’t believe it, then I have nothing to say.”
Then she suddenly had a mysterious smile at the corner of her mouth, “Everything I said today is true, including what Jonathan said to Charlie!”
