Chapter 839
Norah was chucked from the second floor, landing with a splash in the river below She was sinking, no matter how good of a swimmer she was, she can’t do much with her hands and feet tied together.
The icy water was like a chilling embrace Norah was scared out of her wits. She couldn’t scream for help, all she could do was hold her breath and watch as she was sinking deeper and deeper
Her brain was starved of oxygen, her chest felt like it was about to burst. Just when she was at her limit, she heard a sound from the surface and saw a man swimming towards her.
The guy was fit, his eyes were like stars piercing through the night sky, driving away the darkness and despair in her heart.
As the gag in her mouth got washed away, she couldn’t help but take a breath, resulting in a mouthful of water. The pain was unbearable. She looked at the pair of eyes that were getting closer but soon lost consciousness.
Seeing Norah suddenly stop moving, Xavier was alarmed. He held her in his arms and swam to the shore as fast as he could.
Once they resurfaced, Xavier laid her on the shore, slapping her face lightly and shouting, “Norah, Norah!
She was only wearing a tank top, her skin pale from the cold. Xavier took off his own soaking wet clothes, wrapped it around her, and started chest compressions
“Norah!”
He kept calling her name while doing chest compressions
“Cough, cough…
Norah suddenly spat out a mouthful of water, her brows furrowed in pain, she didn’t open her eyes.
Damian was relieved, he took out his phone and dialed 911
Xavier wrapped Norah in his clothes, picked her up, and strode towards the courtyard where Nicolas and their crew were hiding. He had given his coat to Norah, so he was left with a black T–shirt, and blood and water were trickling down from the hem. Damian saw the blood on the cobblestones and froze
“You’re hurt, Xavier
Xavier turned to look at him, frowned, “We’ll talk about it when we get back!”
Damian looked worried but didn’t say anything else. He just quickly followed behind him.
