Estelle saw his lips sealed and decided to break the silence, “Where’s Amiee, didn’t she come with you?”

Josiah took a calm breath, his voice slightly hoarse, “She did. She’s talking to the doctor; she’ll be here in a bit.”

“You guys don’t always have to go see the doc when you’re here. I’m right here, wouldn’t it be better to just check on me instead?” Estelle joked.

Josiah didn’t respond. He wasn’t sure whether he should apologize or explain his previous ignorance.

All the words seemed weak and pale in front of the girl’s scars and blind eyes.

After a while, Estelle turned her wheelchair to face Josiah, “Josiah, I truly don’t blame you. You opposed me because of Yvonne, that’s because you value friendship. You didn’t know we were friends too, so I don’t blame you. As for that guy, should actually thank you, you know how much I wanted to get back at

him.”

Before Estelle could finish, she heard the man’s suppressed sob. She knew that Josiah had a childlike heart, straightforward, clear between right and wrong, capable of loving and hating. He fully defended Yvonne because of their shared past. But once he knew the truth, he would immediately distance himself from

Yvonne.

She totally understood his guilt and sadness.

After a while, Josiah calmed down and said firmly, “I will cure your eyes!”

Estelle gently shook her head, her face showing acceptance of reality, “Maybe it’s because I’ve been too cold–blooded that God is punishing me, making me live in darkness.”

“No!” Josiah said firmly, “Even if I have to give you my eyes, I will make you see the light again!”

Estelle suddenly laughed, “Do you know how many eyes I have now?”

Estelle laughed, “Ask Blue Hawk, if you keep badmouthing her in the organization, she might actually give you the boot!”
