Chapter 990

Carson was taken aback, then it dawned on him. He gratefully said, “Thanks, Charlie!”

“Don’t mention it!” Charlie gave him another suggestion, “If you invite Estelle yourself, she might not come. Have Marina make the call.”

“Got it!”

Carson hung up the phone and immediately dialed Jonathan. “Jonah, are you at the office?”

Jonathan had just finished a meeting. “What’s up?”

“I’ve always felt guilty about you getting hurt because of me. Let’s have dinner together tonight, my treat.” Carson sounded sincere.

“No need!” Jonathan responded casually. “We don’t need that between us.

Carson chuckled softly. “I’ll invite Estelle as well. My fiancée has been wanting to thank Estelle personally, so we can all have dinner together.”

Jonathan’s pen paused in his hand. After a moment, he said, “I’ll see you tonight.”

“Alright, I’ll give you a call tonight!”

“Sure!”

Jonathan hung up and called his secretary. “You’ll be attending the banquet tonight, I have something to do.”

Chuck responded, “Alright!”

Jonathan put down the phone, pushed back his chair, and slowly walked to the window. He gazed into the distance, a hint of helplessness in his eyes which gradually turned into frustration.

In the afternoon, Estelle received a call from Marina, who wanted to thank her for saving her life.

Estelle dismissed it with a light laugh. “You really don’t need to thank me. Everyone in that room was in danger, I was just looking out for myself.”

Marina replied softly, “But I was in the most danger. I must treat you to a meal. This is also Carson’s idea. It’s just a meal. Let’s make friends, okay?”

Estelle laughed. “Alright, where should we meet?”

“I’ll send you the address.”

Marina said, “Estelle, thank you for coming!”

“Oh, please don’t mention it.” Estelle smiled.

Marina reached her hand and led Estelle to a seat. “Carson told me you’re a designer at Snowy Studios. You’re really amazing!”

Listening to the woman’s affectionate address, Carson sneered inwardly. Ever since Cicely’s incident, they hadn’t seen each other. She wouldn’t even look at him a moment ago, but as soon as Estelle arrived, she suddenly became soft and gentle.

Were all these women such drama queens?

As Estelle and Marina were talking, the door suddenly opened and a tall figure walked in.

Estelle turned her head and was slightly surprised. She didn’t know that Carson had also

invited Jonathan.

Jonathan was also staring at her. He turned to Carson and said, “I’m late!”
