Chapter 996 

The next morning, on his way to school, Henson received a call from Janice Harper. 

With a gentle tone, Janice asked, “Have you finished school?” 

“Almost home!” Henson replied. 

In a soft voice, Janice instructed, “Mom and Dad won’t be back for a few days, and neither will the grandparents. So, you have to listen to your uncle.” 

“I know, I’m not a kid anymore, don’t worry about me,” Henson explained. 

Janice chuckled, “Isn’t there an exam tomorrow? Don’t stress out!” 

“Such a minor exam, I’m not even breaking a sweat!” Henson confidently said. 

“That’s good. Take care of yourself and your sister.” 

“Sure, you take care of yourself and Dad too!” 

After hanging up, Henson looked out the car window, thinking about the exam tomorrow, and suddenly remembered something. 

In the afternoon, after finishing her work, Estelle’s new assistant ran over with her phone, “Estelle, your phone has rung twice.” 

Estelle took the phone, saw it was Ms. Simmons, and immediately answered, “Ms. Simmons, what’s up?” 

Ms. Simmons sounded panicked, “Estelle, Kya has a fever after her nap. I tried calling Kya’s mom but she’s not picking up. Should I take her to the hospital?” 

“Sure, take Kya to the hospital. I’ll be there soon!” Estelle quickly replied. 

“Okay!” Ms. Simmons said. 

Estelle hastily asked Mr. Tucker for leave and drove to the hospital. 

As Ms. Simmons took Kya in a cab to the hospital, Estelle was already on her way. She tried calling Emily again, but still, no answer. 

Emily usually wouldn’t turn off her phone; she was probably with her mother for a check-up. 

Estelle drove fast and called Ms. Simmons as soon as she arrived at the hospital, who told her that Kya was in the emergency room. 

She walked quickly towards the emergency room, and before she even entered, she heard a familiar voice, “Don’t be scared Kya, you’ll feel better after you take the medicine. When 

you’re better, I will take you to the amusement park.” 

Charlie? 

Estelle was surprised and walked in. 

Hearing the footsteps, Kya and Charlie both looked over. Kya immediately shouted, 

“Estelle!” 

Estelle quickly walked over and picked up Kya. She was burning up. 

“Estelle!” Kya leaned against Estelle, clearly out of sorts. 

Estelle turned to Charlie, “Charlie, what are you doing here?” 

Charlie gave a gentle smile, “I was here visiting a patient with my mom and bumped into Ms. Simmons and Kya in the hallway. I saw Ms. Simmons was alone with Kya, so I came over to help look after her.”
