Lennon gradually adapted to the dazzling sunlight, and his face softened in the halo, with tenderness between his eyebrows. He lightly curved his lips, forming a smile, with a glimmer of light in his eyes. “Okay.” 

Mariela leaned in, her sweet floral scent lingering around Lennon’s nose. 

Thinking that Mariela was going to hug or kiss him, Lennon felt a sweet sensation in his heart, his eyes filled with a smile, prepared to be kissed, with a faint anticipation and a hint of nervousness. 

This was the first time Marie took the initiative to kiss him. 

However, the next second, the head of the bed slowly rose. 

“I adjusted the hospital bed for you, so that you could lean on it while eating.”

These days, this face repeatedly appeared in his dreams. 

When Lennon woke up, the first person he saw was her. He felt so happy that it seemed unreal. 

When he came to his senses, the small table was already filled. 

Bok choy, beef, fragrant white rice, and a bowl of soup. 

“Why do so much?” Lennon smiled softly, “What kind of soup is this?” 

“Yam and old mother chicken soup.” 

Mariela picked up the chicken soup and scooped a spoonful of it with a small spoon. She blew on it and handed it to Lennon, saying, “Try it.” Lennon smiled and lowered his gaze, but suddenly his smile froze. 

“What happened to your hand?” 

Mariela had a blister on her right index finger. 

Mariela wanted to hide, but it was too late. She had no choice but to tell the truth, “I accidentally burned myself in the kitchen just now. It’s nothing, just a blister.”
