Mariela’s gaze shifted downward and landed on Jaime’s hand. Her tone was icy, “Let go!” 

Jaime held on tight. 

Mariela struggled to break free. 

Jaime increased his force. 

“Jaime, you hurt me!” 

Mariela frowned and shouted. Jaime immediately let go of her as if he had been electrocuted. 

Jaime’s eyes flickered with guilt, “I’m sorry, Marie. I didn’t mean to. I just didn’t want you to go.”

Mariela rubbed her bruised wrist and said in a calm tone, “I have made it clear. We can never go back to the past, and we won’t start over. You don’t need to do these self–pitying things.” 

Mariela took two steps forward and suddenly, as if remembering something, she turned her head and looked into Jaime’s eyes. She said seriously, “I heard you tried to commit suicide a couple of days ago. Jaime, if you are such an extreme person, I would only be glad that I left you, rather than being touched by your deep love.” 

Mariela said slowly, “Don’t commit suicide again. I don’t want to carry such a mental burden after we break up.” 

Mariela followed the moving company staff into the elevator right after she finished speaking. 

Jaime stood in place, thinking about what Mariela had said before leaving. 

She asked him not to commit suicide again. 

Did it mean she still cared about him?

With that in mind, Jaime was about to cry. 

He knew Mariela wouldn’t be so cruel.

Lennon bought a river–view villa for Mariela. It had a large swimming pool and a backyard. 

Sitting on the swing in the garden, she could see the vast sea. 

The villa was fully furnished with furniture and appliances. The decoration was in her preferred style. Lennon had put in a lot of effort. 

Mariela directed the moving company staff to place the luggage properly. 

She left all the furniture and appliances in her apartment, only bringing some of her personal belongings with her. 

After everything was tidied up, Mariela took a shower and lay on the soft and comfortable bed to have a good sleep. 

Mario felt Jaime had a psychological problem. 

Jaime always deluded himself by saying Mariela still loved him. 

Whenever Mario came to see Jaime, he would always hear Jaime talking to himself. Upon closer listening, he realized Jaime was communicating with Mariela.
