Chapter 322
Lennon gave a bitter smile and said, “Grandpa, give me some time, and I will think about it.”
Robert patted Lennon on the shoulder and said earnestly, “Lenny, I can wait, but the Logan family cannot wait.”
Lennon closed his eyes, his chest heaving as if he was desperately suppressing something.”
“If you truly love Mariela,” Robert said patiently, “why don’t you wait until you’ve sorted out Nikolas‘ problem? Then you can win her back.” Lennon’s voice was slightly hoarse, with a look of confusion in his eyes. He seemed lost. Robert had never seen this expression on his face before.“What if she doesn’t want to be with me anymore by then?”
Robert didn’t know the answer.
He understood Lennon’s feelings, but he couldn’t promise him anything. People’s hearts change in an instant. No one was sure of anything. Besides, it was Lennon who suggested breaking up, so Mariela had no reason to wait.
He wanted Lennon to be resolute. Only then would Mariela give up and Nikolas would be deceived.
But if Lenny was resolute and hurt Mariela’s heart, why should she reconcile with him again?
This was an unsolvable problem.

Robert thought for a moment and said in a deep voice, “Lenny, if you don’t want to break up with her, you should talk to her and make it clear that she must accompany you in this act. The precondition is that you can ensure she can perform well without revealing any flaws that could be used against her, causing harm to her family.”
Lennon was silent.
It couldn’t work.
Mariela couldn’t hide her thoughts. If she hadn’t completely given up, every time she saw him, her eyes would betray her, and Nikolas would
notice it.
“You should weigh it carefully.” Robert stood up.“I applied to return to New York this time to cancel the wedding. Think it over, and give me an answer tomorrow. Tomorrow night, I will go to the hospital with you to apologize to Deandre.”
Lennon hung his head in silence, enveloped in melancholy and sadness.
Knowing that he needed some time alone, Robert stopped speaking and turned to go upstairs.
The hall was cold and empty, with tightly closed doors and windows. Not even a breeze could come in, and the air was so stuffy that it was to catch one’s breath.
Lennon tugged at his collar, feeling a sharp pain in his heart.
The winter sun shone through the glass window and cast shadows on the polished floor.
Lennon felt lonely.
