In the evening. Mariela received a phone call from her best friend Fiona. 

“Marie, there are only a few days left until Christmas. Do you have any plans? 

Mariela instinctively glanced at her phone calendar upon hearing the words, and it was already December 20th. 

“No.” 

Because Mariela had been crying for a long time in the afternoon, her voice was a bit hoarse. 

Fiona was startled.“Marie, what happened to you? Why is your voice so hoarse?” 

“I was fine. I just had a slight cold.” 

“Oh, I see.” Fiona didn’t doubt it.“So, how do you plan to spend Christmas? Are you going to celebrate with your boyfriend Lenny or with me and Caylee?” 

When it came to Lennon, Mariela couldn’t help but feel a little sad. 

“I and him…” 

“Hmm? What happened between you and him?” 

The room was brightly lit as if it were daytime, and snowflakes were floating outside the window, falling gently and silently. 

Mariela sat on the bed, holding her phone, as she looked down at her toes.“We had a fight,” she said. 

She was unwilling to mention the whole breakup thing. 

In her mind, things were just not going well between her and Lennon. 

Fiona said, “Nothing big deal. It’s normal for people in love to have a fight. When Christmas comes, I’ll have my brother invite Lenny out, and we can all hang out together. It’ll give you two a chance to spend some time alone. All the conflicts can be resolved with a hug and a kiss.” 

Fiona paused for a moment and smirked mischievously, saying, “If there was, then sleep with him. You will be good, I promise.* 

Fiona had always been so open–minded, speaking without any sense of propriety. Mariela, although aware of her characteristics, still found herself blushing at Fiona’s shameless words. 

Mariela fell into silence. 

“No need to feel embarrassed, Marie. Let me tell you, men are just like this. You can’t reason with them. They prefer things to be straightforward and rough.” 

Mariela listened to Fiona’s love strategy for over ten minutes with a stiff scalp. After she hung up the phone, her mind was filled with indescribable images. 

Sure enough, she shouldn’t have mentioned her and Lennon’s thing to Fiona. 

At night, Mariela couldn’t sleep. 

She lay in bed tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. 

Mariela went over everything that had happened recently in her mind. 

In the end, it was concluded that Lennon definitely broke up with her because he was afraid that Nikolas would harm the Logan family again. 

Mariela thought that once Lennon finished dealing with Nikolas‘ matters, they would probably get back together. 

She could pretend not to know about this matter, and act like she was not familiar with Lennon in front of others, but she could still contact him privately. 

Mariela wanted to make a phone call to talk to Lennon.
