Her expression stung Lennon to shift his gaze away from her. Lennon’s voice was as cold as ice.“Ms. Logan, I already made myself clear. Have a little dignity, and stop pestering me, please.” 

Like a deflated balloon, Mariela became crestfallen. Staggering, she moved aside to make way for the lovers. 

Worried, Caylee took a few steps forward and gently embraced Mariela. “It’s okay, Marie. We are here for you. Everything will be fine.” 

“Lennon, you went too far!” Fiona was so angry that she would love to give Lennon a slap. However, she got pulled back by Darryl. 

“Fiona, don’t be impulsive. Cool down!” Darryl was agitated. 

Comforting Mariela, Caylee turned her head and winked at Carsen. 

Carsen went over and whispered something to Lennon. 

Lennon then left with Shayla. 

“That’s infuriating! Screw them! They went too far!” Fiona grumbled. 

Pulling Fiona, Darryl was in distress. 

Suddenly, Fiona turned her head and glared at Darryl. 

Instantly, Darryl had a bad feeling. 

As expected, Fiona vented her anger by throwing a punch at Darryl and shouting, “You, get lost!” 

“Come on! I did nothing wrong!” Darryl felt aggrieved. 

Fiona angrily shouted, “Without your invitation to Lennon, this farce wouldn’t have happened. I planned this gathering to comfort Marie, but she got hurt instead. Get lost! Go!” 

Speaking, Fiona pushed Darryl out of the suite. 

Caylee said, “Carsen, why don’t you leave with Darryl? Fiona and I will stay here to keep Marie company.” 

Silent, Carsen nodded and then pulled Darryl away. 

Lennon and Shayla walked out of the suite. He pulled her hand off his arm the moment the suite door was closed. Shayla shrugged her shoulders. 

She walked to the elevator with Lennon. 

Shayla casually asked, “What are you gonna do? Ms. Logan was badly hurt just now.” 

Lennon remained silent, lips pursed and fists clenched. 

He thought of nothing but Mariela’s pale face and sad eyes. 

After those hurtful words against his will, he didn’t feel any better than Mariela. 

He wouldn’t leave her as long as she didn’t want to break up with him. 

Never had he expected that he would call his earnest promise a white lie one day.
