She had long noticed Lauryn’s feelings for Lennon and had also guessed that Lauryn had a connection with Jaime, so, she was not surprised when she heard those words. 

But later, Lauryn said that Nicolas backed her up. 

Mariela frowned, lost in thought. 

This was something she had not expected.

In the study, Lennon sat on the chair behind the desk, while Matthew stood in front of the table, reporting to him. 

“Sir, these are the results of the investigation on Ms. Schneider you ordered.” Matthew turned his laptop screen toward Lennon and placed it in front of him. 

Lennon looked through the information and his face gradually darkened. 

“Our people found that Ms. Schneider has been in close contact with Jaime recently,” Matthew reported, “based on the information gathered so far, it appears that when Ms. Logan was kidnapped, Ms. Schneider ordered Jaime to report it to the police.” 

Matthew said, “The Herman Group was on the verge of bankruptcy a few months ago, but suddenly, they received a large investment. I checked and found out that the investment was made by an overseas investment company, and the owner of the company is related to Nikolas.” 

When Lennon heard this name, his eyes flashed with coldness. 

“I ignored him,” Lennon smirked, “Jaime is actually Nikolas‘ man.” 

“And…” Matthew hesitated, wanting to say more.
