Lauryn wanted to deny it, but she couldn’t. 

She couldn’t say that she didn’t love Lennon, nor could she deny her involvement in the murder. 

Seeing Lauryn remain silent, Rayne got so angry that she couldn’t say anything, just glaring at Lauryn with hatred. 

Royce sighed heavily and said, “Lenny, let’s not talk about it for now. Bella is not feeling well. Don’t upset her.” 

“Apologize to Marie,” Lennon said, growing impatient, his gaze turning even colder. 

“No! I won’t! Why should I apologize to Mariela? I did nothing wrong” Lauryn’s voice was hoarse, tears streaming down her face. She still refused to apologize. 

Her face was covered in tears as she cried out in a sorrowful voice, completely disregarding any sense of dignity. “Why? Why can’t I love you? We grew up together and have no blood relation Why can’t you turn around and look at me? Is it wrong for me to love you?”

Rayne stood up and slapped Lauryn, angrily shouting “Shut up!”

Lauryn sneered. 

“Do you think I want to be adopted by you?” She lifted her head and stared at Rayne fiercely. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have become his sister. Did you even ask for my opinion before adopting me? I’ve never wanted to be his sister!” 

“Crazy, crazy…” Bella was shocked, clutching her chest and struggling to catch her breath.“Quick! Quick, get some pills!” Royce shouted anxiously. 

The servant hurriedly ran to get the quick–acting heart–saving pill. 

Lennon gave Matthew a look.
