“Your mom is coming to New York? That’s great!” Perla said with a smile. “When will she arrive? I will arrange a welcome party for her.” 

The Herman Group had moved its headquarters to New York when Bruce made the investment. 

Jaime also bought a villa in New York and settled down here back then to win Mariela back. 

The Herman family lived in New York. 

Juliette pestered Jaime to buy her a luxury apartment when she was with Jaime as Mariela’s substitute, and it was where she lived now. 

It was just a story Juliette made to brush Perla off, but she would never let Perla meet her mother. The Herman family was like a huge burden that Juliette tried hard to get rid of. How could she let her own family meet the Hermans? 

Juliette said gently, “Madam Perla, we can talk about it later.” 

Perla asked after a furrow after she heard Juliette, “Why? Is it because Jay has been neglecting you lately? That’s why you don’t want us to meet your family?” 

Juliette was killing herself trying to find an excuse, while Perla’s word came to her rescue. 

Juliette pouted and lowered her gaze, looking aggrieved. She said, “Yeah. Jay has been ignoring me these days.It seems he doesn’t want this baby.” 

At first, Juliette just pretended to be sad, but she did feel so after saying it. 

Anyway, she was into Jaime and had once expected the baby. 

She went to Jaime right after she got to know she was pregnant. However, Jaime asked her to have an abortion without hesitation, which made her so upset and wronged. 

It was exactly how she felt. 

But she was no longer a hopeless romantic like a teenage girl. 

She loved Jaime, but she wouldn’t put love first. 

Marrying him now would ruin her future. 

Perla gently patted Juliette’s shoulder and comforted her, “I will ask Jay to come here to keep you company.” 

“It’s too late now,” Juliette muttered to herself.
