“Lenny, I want you to teach me,” Lauryn insisted, pouting 

Maricla felt a strange ensation she couldn’t describe. 

It was strange. 

She wasn’t in the mood to see Lauryn being overly dingy, so she headed to the stable to fetch her horse instead. 

Her horse was a white Akhal–Teke, a 17th birthday gift from Caylee. 

The horse was pure white with smooth fur, shimmering under the sun, looking noble. 

The Akhal–Teke was known as the “Heavenly Horse.” 

Caylee smiled beside her, “Marie, I took good care of Snowphie while you were away.” 

“Snowphie” was the name Mariela gave the horse. 

It was entirely white and a gift from Caylee, so she named it “Snowphie.” 

“Thank you, Caylee. Mariela stroked the horse’s cheek. The horse lowered its head, rubbing against her palm. 

Mariela beamed with joy, “Snowphie still remembers me even after three years.” 

“Of course,” Caylee replied, “horses are smart.” 

Mariela led Snowphie outside. 

She was eager to ride around the field. 

She stepped into the stirrup, and Lennon helped her up by supporting her arm and waist. 

“Thanks.” 

Mariela rode off. 

She didn’t see Lauryn’s envious and resentful look behind her.

Mariela said, “There are riding coaches over there. I’ll call one to teach you.” 

Lauryn pouted. “But the coach might put a lot of pressure on me. I don’t even know the coach, and I’m scared of getting scolded. You’re so nice, Marie. You wouldn’t scold me, right?
