“After Juliette came back, you hooked up with her more than once, right?” Mariela said with a dismissive scoff. You think I’m clueless? I didn’t mention it because, honestly, I don’t care anymore.” 

She didn’t care anymore. 

Hearing her, Jaime felt a sting in his hean. 

His chest tightened, and he looked hunt. 

“You don’t care anymore? Well, I do,” Jaime’s face fell, and he whispered softly. “All I’ve been thinking about lately is you. I miss you so much. Let’s give it another shot, Marie.” 

Disgust washed over Mariela’s eyes. 

Was Jaime losing it or something? 

He was all angry just a second ago, and now he was acting all victim–like. 

Mariela glared coldly.“No way.” 

“Why?” Jaime shouted, losing control. 

Passersby cast curious glances at them. 

Maricla fel embarrassed. 

“Stop making a scene here! You might not care, but I do.” 

Jaime grabbed Mariela’s wrist, emotional.“Mariela, come back with me!” 

“Let go!” Mariela struggled. 

However, Jaime’s grasp was unyielding, and she couldn’t wrench herself free. Mariela narrowed her eyes and said coldly, Let go, or I won’t hold back.” 

She was on the verge of decking him. 

“I won’t let go!” 

Jaime held Manrla with one hand and reached for her head, trying to kiss her. 

“Mariela, I miss you.” Jaime’s lips got closer. 

Mariela prepared to fight back. 

“Let her go!” a voice boomed. 

Jaime turned and came face–to–face with a formidable man, his hesitation evident. “Who the hell are you?” he demanded. Lennon didn’t look at Jaime properly. Without speaking, he punched Jaime’s face. 

The punch was delivered with all his might, fueled by fury. 

Jaime, wincing in pain, released 

Mariela and clutched the spot where he’d been hit “Fuck, I’ll kill you!! 

Lennon gently moved Mariela aside, shielding her, and fixed Jaime with a steely, murderous gaze. Through clenched teeth, he growled “Stay away from her.” 

Jaime’s anger flared from the impact of the punch, and witnessing Lennon protect Mariela only fueled his fury further, causing a tight, searing sensation in his chest. 

He shoved Lennon forcefully.“Fuck! She’s my girlfriend, keep your hands off her!” 

Lennon handed the thermos to Mariela. “Wait there.” 

Then, he kicked Jaime hard. 

Jaime fell to the ground
