Chapter 288 The Decision Back Then novel Flash Marriage: Slow Down Mister

Helena could not blame Laura since she believed that it was what she did that led to such a result, so it was reasonable and forgivable that Laura would treat her badly—after all, she was only a maid of the Hutchinson.

At the thought that Laura did not even want to see her, Helena burst out of greater tears. Although Laura had promised her to dine in her house, she was still not sure whether Laura would actually come or not. She wondered whether she could see her again for the rest of her life.

She was longing to sit Laura's wedding ceremony, take care of her when she was pregnant and make sure that her could live a happy life. Yet, it might be impossible for her to realize these dreams.

"Mom, where have you been today? I could find you nowhere," Clara ventured without apparent anxiety.

At Clara's question, Helena immediately turned around and secretly wiped her tears. Then, she turned back to face Clara, smiling, and said, "I find it boring here so I took a casual walk."

Instead of nailing Helena's lie, Clara looked her in her eyes and asked, "Mom, why did you cry just now?"

"I didn't," Helena nervously lowered down her head and slightly rubbed her eyes, "Well, there was dust in my eyes. I didn't cry. What should I cry for?" Helena squeezed a smile which, according to Clara, was more than bizarre and reluctant.

Suppressing the jealousy, Clara walked over and took Helena's hands, "Mom, can you tell me where your biological daughter is? If untreated, your illness can become severe and dangerous."

Recently, Clara had been always talking about the disease and the biological daughter, which infuriated Helena, so she flung Clara's hands away and cried loudly, "Don't ask me those questions anymore. I won't tell you. I don't want any treatment now! I will take care of myself and it is none of your business."

Helena's response greatly upset Clara. How could Helena scold her like that when she cared so much about her health and treated her as her biological mother?

Yet, no matter how badly and contemptuously Laura Hutchinson had treated Helena that day outside Hutchinson's villa, she still smiled and spoke gently. Clara wondered whether it was only because she was not Helena's biological daughter that she had been treated in such a bad way.

Jealousy erupting, Clara burst out in tears. She asked, "Mom, you went to visit the Hutchinson's today, didn't you? Laura Hutchinson is your daughter, right?"

"Nonsense!" In a panic, Helena shouted, "I didn't! Laura is not my daughter! Stop imagining things!"

Although Helena shouted angrily, she did not even dare to look at Clara. Helena's evasive expression further convinced Clara that Laura was her biological daughter.

"Mom, please tell me the truth. I saw you talking with Laura today in front of the Hutchinson's villa."

"You followed me?" Helena finally looked Clara in her eyes, anger overflowing from her tone and expression.

Helena's suspicion upset Clara more greatly. She retorted, "I didn't. I was anxious when I couldn't find you. Then, I remembered that there is a GPS on your phone, so I tried to locate you through that system. When I arrived at Hutchinson's villa, I saw you talking with Laura."
