Chapter 397 Anyone Can Act novel Flash Marriage: Slow Down Mister

All Laura could think about was how Horace had banished her, and the idea of that was driving her crazy, so she had completely forgot to pretend to be friends with Clara.

"You mother asked me to go get you at Horace's mansion," Clara explained patiently, "She told me to take good care of you."

"Helena asked you to do this?" Laura relieved a little hearing that, but her eyes were still full of doubts.

About what had happened in the opera house, wasn't that a show put on by Clara herself? If not, the whole thing was such a freaky coincidence.

"Yes." Clara nodded. "But didn't you tell me that we are friends, so even if she hadn't told me to come for you, I would never have turned my back on you like that."

Clara was lying, with sincerity on her face. Having dealt with Laura for such a long time, she found it ironic that she herself had shaped up to be a good actress.

"You may as well stay here. You can't walk that well, so I got a help for you. You can relax and stay here. I'll talk to Horace and ask him to ease off on you."

Seeing how nice Clara was with her, Laura couldn't help but think, was Clara doing all this for a purpose? It just didn't make sense for Clara to treat her so well

Realizing that Laura would not believe in her so easily, Clara added, "The marrow transplant operation will be undertaken at the end of this month, so you have to take care of yourself."

That's the reason. Laura sneered and thought, "No wonder Helena sounded so anxious on the phone, because she wasn't worried about me, but her own life. That nasty woman. I knew her kindness wasn't genuine! But it's a good thing that they have to count on me now. Since I have nowhere else to go, I can seize this chance."

There was a noticeable relief appearing on Laura's face, so Clara knew that she had successfully dropped her guard off.

It seemed that Clara had the good sense to know that to persuade Laura, she would have to play the mutual-benefit card.

When Laura had figured out why Clara had come to save her, she thought Clara remained as silly as five years before. But with Helena being just Clara's foster mother, was it really necessary for Clara, a foster daughter, to go so far to do all this for her?

Despite her qualms, Laura didn't question her about that because she still had to rely on Clara for living.

"Clara, thanks for seeing me as friend, and thanks for taking care of me when I'm in need. I'm so sorry for what I have done to you before. I was so stupid, and I'm sorry. I apologize."

She then began to choke and well up. "Clara, I'm really sorry. I hope you will forgive me and give me a chance to make it up for you. Will you?"

So "flexible". Deep down, Clara was sneering at her, but on the surface, she played ball. "Those things are all history now. Let's forgive and forget. Don't say another word about it anymore."

"Great, great, l won't talk about it." Laura pretended to wipe her tears. "Clara, would you talk to Horace and ask him to forgive me?"

"What happened between you two? Why did he..." Clara looked at her with faked embarrassment. "Why did he throw you out? You have to walk me through the whole thing before I talk to him."
