Aisha's life hadn't been a walk in the park, losing her dad when she was just a kid, and then having all her inheritance snatched by her aunt and uncle.

She decided to lend her a hand.

Pulling her laptop onto her lap, Flora's fingers flew over the keyboard like a pro. The little program she was working on morphed into something totally different.

Once she was done, Flora smiled with satisfaction and put the laptop back.

“Dinner’s ready!”

A knock on the door was followed by Connor's voice.

“Coming!” Flora called back, waiting for Aisha to come out of the bathroom before heading downstairs together.

Downstairs, the table was already set with dinner.

There were five dishes and two soups, including a special nourishing soup just for Aisha.

Connor pulled out a chair for Flora, who gave him a quick peck on the cheek as she sat down. Connor chuckled, ruffling her hair before sitting beside her.

“Try this.” He dropped a piece of braised pork into Flora's bowl.

Flora blinked innocently at him. “Feed me.”

“Seriously, you two are too much.” Ray's face twisted in mock disgust. He glanced at Aisha, who was quietly eating, and tapped his bowl with his chopsticks. “Hey!”

Aisha looked at him, deadpan.

“Braised pork,” Ray said, nodding toward the dish.

Aisha felt like chucking the whole plate at his face but remembered how Ray had been there for her, helping her with all sorts of things lately. Without him, she wouldn't have managed.

Thinking about the harsh words she had thrown at him earlier, Aisha softened a bit. She picked up Ray’s spoon and placed a piece of braised pork in his bowl.

Ray, who was just messing around, didn't expect her to actually serve him. His grumpy face lit up instantly.

The next morning, Flora slept in, feeling the effects of the previous night as she rubbed her sore back, got dressed, and went downstairs.

Connor was in the middle of a video call. Sitting behind his desk near the floor-to-ceiling windows, he was fully immersed in the English conversation on his screen.

Noticing Flora, he took off his headphones, excused himself in English, and went to the kitchen. He brought out a prepared breakfast and milk, setting them on the dining table.

“Eat up, leave the dishes, I’ll handle them later.”

“Got it,” Flora kissed his cheek. “Go back to work.”

Connor nodded and returned to his desk, diving back into his meeting.

Flora ate her breakfast, pulling out her phone to check messages. At ten o'clock, Aisha had sent a message.

Just four short words.

—Was it you?
