"Mom!"

She threw herself into the woman's arms like she'd suffered the greatest injustice in the world.

Listening to her daughter's sobs, Madison's heart felt like it was breaking. Her eyes landed on the slap mark on Vivian's face, and her expression turned from sorrow to rage. "Who did this?"

"It was her!"

With her mother backing her up, Vivian's confidence soared, and she angrily pointed at Brianna.

"Wait, Mrs. Brimer, there might be a misunderstanding..." Mr. Flynn quickly cut in, desperate to keep things from spiraling out of control. If the girl was right and she was from the Brimer family, things would get messy.

But Madison ignored him, gently patting her daughter's back to comfort her before striding towards Brianna.

"Mrs. Brimer, this seems like a simple case of mutual combat. How about we just call it even? Both sides apologize and we move on?" Mr. Flynn suggested with a strained smile, not wanting to anger either side.

"Absolutely not!" Mrs. Brimer scoffed. "I want them in jail!"

As her words hung in the air, Ray casually remarked, "That sounds like a great idea."
