Kruz had been stuck in the villa all day and was going stir-crazy. The bodyguards wouldn’t let him out, but seeing his pitiful look, Flora finally agreed to sneak him out for dinner.

They picked the Pearl Hotel, a spot well-known in Ray’s circles.

Just as Flora and Kruz had started ordering their food, the door to their private room swung open, and in walked Ray with a swagger.

“Well, if it isn’t Flora,” he greeted, his eyes narrowing into an irresistibly charming smile.

Ray had heard about the incident at the lab, but he wasn’t worried about Flora. He knew she was more than capable of handling herself. Plus, she had Connor’s unwavering protection – to the point where Connor nearly set the White family mansion ablaze for her.

“Ray,” Kruz greeted politely, a bit taken aback to see him.

Ray raised an eyebrow, recognizing Kruz. “Escaped again, did you?” he mused before taking a seat next to Flora, announcing that the meal was on him.

Around the corner from the restroom, a group of teenagers spotted Kruz hurrying in. Recognizing him, they planned to confront him but decided against causing a scene inside the prestigious hotel, opting to wait for a better opportunity outside.

Unaware of the brewing trouble, Kruz returned to find Ray had already left. After finishing their meal, he and Flora left the hotel, only to be ambushed by the gang on the street opposite.

The hotel manager, upon noticing the situation, rushed to inform Ray, knowing his connection with Flora. Surprisingly, Ray seemed more excited than alarmed at the news, leaving the manager puzzled by his reaction.
