Joy got hit by a car. Her injuries were brutal; her entire right hand was crushed, and she's still in the hospital fighting for her life. A car accident? Flora raised an eyebrow. She had just survived one herself, and now Joy went through the same ordeal. What a coincidence. Flora had a feeling she knew who was behind it. Even if Connor didn’t make the move, she would’ve. Crimson had already investigated, and Joy had a hand in her injuries too. Connor was clever, waiting until after the medical league to take action, keeping things under the radar. Yep, her man was smart like that.
“Why haven’t you dried your hair?” Connor walked in, noticing her playing on her phone with her hair still damp, and frowned.
“I forgot,” Flora said, putting down her phone, looking a bit sheepish. It wasn’t exactly that she forgot; she was just lazy, heh... waiting for Connor to come dry her hair for her. Since being with Connor, she was getting spoiled rotten, almost unable to fend for herself.
Of course, her little tricks didn’t slip past Connor. With a playful flick to her forehead, he grabbed the hairdryer from the cabinet, plugged it in, and started drying her hair.
“Is it too hot?” He checked the temperature, asking gently.
“Nope.”
“Tell me if it gets uncomfortable, okay?”
“Mhm.” Flora nodded. Suddenly, as if remembering something, she asked, “Connor, did you forget something?”
“What?” Connor was momentarily clueless. What could he have forgotten? There’s no way he’d forget anything about Flora.
Flora turned around, wrapping her arms around Connor’s waist. She was sitting while he was standing, making her look up to meet his gaze.
“What is it? Didn’t you promise me a gift?” Flora said, her lips curling into a smile. “What’s this, going back on your word?”
Seriously...
Connor didn’t expect her to remember that. Meeting her teasing eyes, he felt his face heat up and couldn’t help but cover her eyes with his hand.
“You cheeky girl.”
Always coming up with mischievous ideas.
“So, are you gonna do it or not?” Flora teased, trying not to laugh.
“I won’t, let’s pick something else.”
Connor still felt pretty embarrassed.
Flora shrugged, flopping down on the bed. She pulled the blanket over her head, feigning upset.
Connor knew she was pretending, but he still felt a little off.
“Get up, your hair’s not dry yet.”
“It’s almost dry!”
“No, it’s not. Get up, or you’ll wake up with a headache tomorrow.” Connor pulled her out from under the blanket, all his resolve crumbling before her.
“Okay, okay, I’ll do it, I’ll change.”
Flora barely contained her laughter, her dark eyes locked on him. Connor agreed and regretted it instantly, but whatever, as long as she was happy, sneaking in a little fun wouldn’t be too bad.
He finished drying her hair, then awkwardly grabbed the outfit Flora had picked for him, heading to the changing room. Flora quickly grabbed her phone, ready to film, her eyes glued to the changing room door.
Nearly ten minutes passed before the door finally swung open. Connor stood there in a nearly see-through black shirt, his broad shoulders and narrow waist showcased perfectly, the collar open wide revealing his defined collarbone with that enticing red mole. Below, his abs peeked through, and further down was a tease of a view.
