It was Adrian on the line.

"Hey, sis! It's urgent, you gotta get to the hospital right away! Dad and Uncle Shane are in trouble!"

Flora's heart skipped a beat as she heard the panic in Adrian's voice, and she shot up from her chair, the legs scraping loudly across the floor.

At the hospital.

Outside the operating room.

"What happened?" Flora and Connor rushed in, their faces filled with worry.

"Finally, you're here, Sis!" Adrian's eyes were red and puffy as he explained the situation.

Nathan and Shane were out together when they were suddenly attacked by some thugs. Shane's injuries were minor, just some scrapes and a bump on the head, but Nathan got shot in the chest, and things were looking really bad. He was in surgery, fighting for his life.

"Adrian, the doctor just said Dad's critical," Adrian's voice shook, his whole body trembling, "If I hadn't gone to get the car, those guys wouldn't have had the chance..."

"Hey, don't beat yourself up. Nathan's a tough guy; he's gonna pull through this!"

As Kruz was trying to calm Adrian down, the operating room doors swung open.

Adrian rushed over, grabbing the doctor's hand, desperate for news. "Doc, how's he doing?"

The doctor let out a heavy sigh, "We've done everything we could, but the bullet's too close to his heart. There's nothing more we can do. I'm so sorry."

Sorry? Just sorry? Adrian felt like the ground had been pulled out from under him. He swayed on his feet, barely holding it together.

The medical staff were taken aback, unsure of who she was or why she was giving orders.

"Do what she says," Connor instructed.

"But Mr. Connor, using dexamethasone now might do more harm than good. It could push him over the edge!" The doctor protested, clearly torn.

They respected Connor, but playing with a patient's life wasn't something they took lightly.

"He's already in a dire state! Just follow her lead!" Adrian urged, putting his faith in Flora's hands. She was their best shot at saving Nathan.

"But..."

"Just do it! We'll take the responsibility if anything goes wrong!"
