The assistant found Joe's reaction a bit odd but didn't give it much thought. With a sigh, he remarked, "The Reyes family's been on a losing streak. I bet they're going to lose again this time. I mean, how could Ms. Flora, with her petite build, possibly compete against Mr. Luke?"
Joe turned to him with a flat expression. "Are you blind or something?"
The assistant was left speechless.
"The Reyes family is going to win," Joe declared.
Scratching his head, the assistant mumbled, "But that's not what you just said."
Joe turned away, clearly uninterested in continuing the conversation.
...
Out on the racetrack, Luke smirked, "Flora, why don't you call me 'big brother' and beg for mercy? Maybe then I won't make you lose too badly."
Even though Luke looked down on Flora, he couldn't help but feel a tug at his heart seeing her slender figure in that racing suit.
Without looking up, Flora replied in a lazy yet audacious tone, "Or, you could call me 'ancestor,' and maybe I'll let you lose at a slower pace."
Luke was momentarily stunned, his face darkening. "You're asking for it!"
He yanked the car door open and slid into the driver's seat, clearly irked.
Flora, calm as ever, settled into her own car.
All eyes were on Flora, more eager to see what she would pull off compared to Luke.
Finally—
With a gunshot, the race kicked off!
Luke's car bolted ahead right away.
But Flora's car remained motionless at the start line.
The crowd was puzzled, eyebrows furrowed. Why was her start so slow?
Luke had already sped nearly a hundred meters when he glanced in the rearview mirror, amused.
She can't even get going, and she's in a race?
Is this a contest to see who's more embarrassing?
Another twenty seconds ticked by.
Flora's car still hadn't moved.
"What's up with this? Luke's almost done with his first lap, and Flora's still sitting there?!"
"Seriously, can't she even start the car?"
"What the heck, why enter a race then? This is a racetrack, not a playground!"
As soon as the words left her mouth—
Flora's car shot forward like an arrow!
The grin froze on Luke's face, his eyes widening in disbelief.
"How is she so fast!"
Zachary sat up straight, in shock!
Within the Reyes family’s team, Adrian and Kruz leaped up in excitement!
It's happening!
She's about to show them all!
The crowd fell into a stunned silence.
Everyone watched in awe as Flora's car flew across the track, their earlier jabs now stuck in their throats.
Oddly enough, Flora didn’t seem to be racing.
It was more like a performance.
A breathtaking show!
