“Yes were very sorry Leila we didn’t mean to make a mess we were just having fun” Alek said as he tried to comfort Kevin at the same time as trying to get me to accept hi apology.

I couldn’t contain my laughter their matching pouting lips and puppy like eyes made me think that they were so sweet but as the pancake mixture dripped down Alek’s hair into his eyes I couldn’t

contain my laughter inside me anymore.

It seemed like I was not the only one as both Evan and Elise had tears streaming down their faces from trying to contain their laughter.

“Okay if we want breakfast I think I’m going to have to make it, Evan Elise you’re going to help me

clean

up and ill make us all a fresh batch of pancakes, Alek take Kevin upstairs both of you need to clean yourselves up ok” I said as I delegated out the tasks for everyone as soon as everyone had

calmed down.

Kevin nodded walking ahead of Alek to rush upstairs to have a bath he always loved them because he got to splash around in the water. Alek however stopped next to me before following Kevin.

“I’m sorry Il mio amore I didn’t mean to cause you so much trouble” Alek said sadly.

I gripped his left hand which seemed to have escaped from being covered in pancake batter and squeezed it.

“Don’t be sorry we all needed that especially the kids, it gave them something to think and laugh about instead of the war thank you Alek, I don’t know what I would do without you” I gave him a soft kiss on the lips trying to convey my gratitude for bringing something cheerful into the kids

lives.

He looked shocked but then he smiled a stunning smile and squeezed my hand before walking up the stairs as Kevin was waiting for him at the top.

I turned towards Evan and Elise who were both staring at me with slight smirks on their face before looking at each other and saying simultaneously “sissy’s in love ooooohhhhhhh“.

I blushed at their comment “either you both clean up or you won’t be getting any pancakes” I said.

That made them both snap their heads back to the task at hand in no time the kitchen was spotless and there was pancakes piled up on five plates.

As soon as I had placed all the plates on the table I could hear footsteps running down the stairs as both Alek and Kevin appeared staring straight at the plates filled with pancakes both rushing to

claim their seats.

“Yay thank you mommy you makes the bestest pancakes ever” Kevin shouted as he pushed a large bite of pancake into his mouth his cheeks swelled as he tried to swallow it.

Alek chuckled as he watched Kevin before tucking into his own pancakes we all sat in a comfortable silence broken only by Kevin making conversation with Evan and Elise. As we all finished our food and I put the dishes into the dishwasher I turned to the kids.

“Okay kids me and Alek wanted to spend all day with you so we decided to have a movie day is that okay with all of you” I smiled to myself knowing what the reaction was going to be.

“Yes that would be great sissy” Evan smiled at me.

“Yes please it’s going to be so fun” Elise said while she jumped up and down.

“Yessssss we get to watch movies” Kevin said while jumping onto Evan who laughed while holding him up as best as he could.

“Okay so that’s decided Alek why don’t you take Kevin and Elise to pick some movies out me and Evan will bring the snacks” I smiled.

It took little to no time to get all the snacks to the movie room that I had created for the pack when we wanted to have time to spend as a pack together.

We had sweet and salted popcorn cheese nachos with various dips as well as different types of

chocolates.

We went through movie after movie laughing and joking we even had another fight but this one wasn’t with food but with pillows.

As the light of day drained from the sky into darkness we realised that we had ignored it because we hadn’t wanted the night to end scared of what was to come tomorrow.

Kevin was half asleep as Alek and I walked Evan and Elise to their rooms I gave them both a kiss and a hug followed by an I love you which I was surprised to find copied by Alek as they both crept into their rooms to find sleep.

Alek and I tucked Kevin into his bed giving him a good night kiss seeing as he had fallen asleep.

As I got ready for bed I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming dread for what was to come tomorrow might be my last day alive what would happen to the kids to Alek.

Alek wrapped his arms around me in comfort dragging me towards the bed simply holding me.

“I’m scared Alek but I know I have to be strong I mean I’m the leader of the Ordinem lupus and I’m acting like a little girl but I can’t help it” I whispered.

As his words soothed me it made me realise how much Alek had come to mean to me only making it so much more important that we win the war. The thought of losing anyone from my pack especially Alek and the kids was too much for me to bear.

No I wouldn’t let anything happen to them, they are my everything and no one is taking away me those I care about let’s see them try.

As my wolf made her presence known I couldn’t help agree with her we had too much to lose tomorrow that’s what made us stronger we had something that the rogues and hunters don’t.

With that thought I drifted off to sleep being held in Alek’s arms, uncertain of what tomorrow would bring.
