MEGAN

FORREST WAS the sole heir of his father’s fortune. He donated every penny to the Cancer Research Center in Manchester. Last month, I was thankful that we would able to adjust Forrest’s schedule for the groundbreaking of his old house into a clinic. Yes, my man was a damn philanthropist.

Myra had a successful charity event on behalf of the battered women in the city. Alan was back in town to continue his businesses.

And I, on the other hand, had no more escape but to accept the job offer in his Atto Tech Company. That was three months ago. At first, it was awkward when I was welcomed into the office. Everyone raised a brow, but when they found out that I was dating their boss, they backed off and treated me with respect as the new financial manager to the most eligible bachelor CEO in the city.

Two days ago, we were back in New York, and hopefully, we would be there when Camila and Pyke welcomed their first son. Kelly was still closed to Forrest. Blaine and Xandry, well, they were very happy with their kids.

Then, Baby Agnes was born healthy at seven pounds. And as a big sister, I was so thrilled that Mom made it through despite her age. After a day of her recovery in the hospital, she and my sister were released.

Mom and the sperm donor, Trevor had great chemistry, and they were officially dating because I could feel the sexual tension between them even from a distance. And the adoration in Trevor’s eyes every time he looked at Mom and Agnes was off the chart.

“You shouldn’t be carrying, Mom.” I stood from the couch when Mom walked into the living room with Baby Agnes in her arms. “Let me take her and have a seat, please?”

“You worried too much. I have to eventually ambulate for fast recovery, Meggie.” She gave me Agnes, who slightly opened and squinted her blue eyes.

“Aw. She’s so pretty.”

Mom glanced at the guys, and I looked at the love of my life. He must have felt me staring at him. Forrest smiled and winked at me, then his gaze fell to the baby in my arms, taking a few seconds.

“That man is madly in love with you, Meggie. And he wants to have children with you.”

“You’re being ridiculous.” I rolled my eyes. “You read it wrong. The effect of painkillers must have not worn off yet, mother.”

“I am drugs-free, Meggie. Haven’t you noticed his gesture? Of course, you didn’t.” Mom literally rolled her eyes at me.

“Well, mother, we’ve only been dating for less than a year. That topic didn’t cross our minds yet. We didn’t even talk about our future, and I am still on birth control, duh.”

“Trust me, he wants to. He just wanna make it slow because of you, honey. Before you two were together, it didn’t even occur to you to date, what more raising your own kid.” Mom’s words made me think.

Forrest and I talked a lot about many things, especially when we were in France. We made love in the cellar. It was funny when he mentioned about building his own house in that vineyard.

“He doesn’t want to scare you. And you two are still having fun, exploring, and in the stage of getting to know each other. But he always wanted to have a family.”

“I love him, Mom. So much that I don’t think I can live without him. I can’t even believe I’m saying this. If he wants to have children, I will give him. All he has to do is ask. He may be a jealous, overprotective, and annoying hot CEO, but I know he will be a good father. People say that an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, but that tree might be the man who treated him as his own blood.”
