Sandra couldn't fathom why her daughter was so adamant. "Even if Alex doesn't stand up for Anthea, Rebecca, you know darn well who the Petersons are. What makes you think Alex will listen to you and actually marry Anthea?"

"We've been invited to the Petersons' soirée the day after tomorrow," Rebecca continued. "I plan to take Anthea with me."

Daly seemed to remember something else. "Rebecca, since Kendrick has been looking for you, you'd better clear things up with him soon. The Christmas' just around the corner, and we can't afford to delay the CY Group's collaboration."

"No rush," Rebecca said with a smile. If Kendrick had come all the way from Capital City to find her, it meant he valued his life-saver highly.
