Ileana explained, “Nanson’s quite old-fashioned, probably because of his sister’s influence. He’s against cohabitation before marriage. If you want to keep up the ‘good girl’ image, you can’t get too intimate with him. Otherwise, all our efforts will be for nothing!”

Jenny was incredulous, “Really, Ileana? During all those years with him, you guys never...?”

Ileanan shook her head.

Jenny sighed, “I didn’t expect Nanson to be such a stand-up guy!” In today’s world, who else could show such restraint?

That remark stung Ileana. Nanson was once hers.
