By the time Belle arrived, Raeleigh was about to fall asleep to the curses still being spewed outside. Belle fretted anxiously, but she couldn't just manhandle her mother-in-law away from the Fragrance Garden. She tried to persuade Paige away with sweet words to no avail. In the end, she had to wait for Hudson to come and forced Paige to return.

When a voice came through the door that sounded like Belle, Raeleigh cracked it open, and true enough, Belle was on the other side.

"Raeleigh, how are you?" Belle took Raeleigh's hands in concern. Raeleigh smiled in response, "I'm fine, I was just about to fall asleep."

Belle was dumbfounded, disbelief on her face. What did this child say? Almost fell asleep?

Belle looked at Xanthus, who stood to the side as they conversed. Xanthus's expression was extremely terrible as he commented nonchalantly, "I really didn't expect that the Matriarch of the Harvey family could have such words coming out of her mouth. It really is incomprehensible."

Even a good-tempered person would seethe when faced with injustice, and Xanthus was no good-tempered person.

To say he was displeased would be an extreme understatement.

Belle could see where he was coming from, thus did not show her displeasure. When a child had been wronged, there would be grievances. That was something she, as someone who had experienced it before, understood.

Raeleigh didn't make a big scene out of it, which was enough to make her feel lucky. And as an elder brother, if he wasn't furious on her behalf over what happened, then something must be wrong somewhere.

Belle came in and shut the door. She pulled Raeleigh to sit down. This matter needed to be smoothed over. Don't mention the verbal abuse, she shouldn't suffer even a little bit of injustice.

After they sat down, Belle spoke up in regret, "Raeleigh, I've wronged you."

Raeleigh fixed her eyes on Belle for a moment before she said, "I called Mr. Harvey but he didn't pick up. The number he gave me is evidently a blank contact. I believe that it's not because something happened to him, but that he doesn't want to take my calls. He must be at a meeting which is why he didn't answer the phone.

I wanted to wait for him to come back, but as Aunt saw earlier, it looks like waiting is impossible.

I am also pregnant now. It's not good for me to get stressed and agitated which is why I wished to leave first. As for the promise I made to him, I can only apologize for not being able to keep it.

Santiago is here, so I'll leave him in your care. I believe he will be fine, therefore I should head back."

What else could Belle say? Raeleigh had already said so much up to this point.

Raeleigh stood up and looked back at Santiago. She had intended to stay with him for a few more days, but she didn't expect such misfortune to occur. Now she had to leave even if she didn't want to. If something really happened, she couldn't afford to bear the consequences.

After sparing one more look, Raeleigh turned around and left the Harvey Family. Belle walked her all the way to the car and clarified everything with her before she left. When she couldn't see the taillights anymore, Belle turned with a huge sigh and disappointment in her heart.

Back when she was young, Paige didn't like her either. That was how she had been. She had initially thought that Paige had changed due to her advanced years. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect that she was still the same as before with no signs of improvement.

Belle didn't know what to say anymore. With all things said and done, Paige was her elder and she should give some face. Still these people, why did they lambast them at the get go and so unattractively at that? If it were anyone else, they definitely wouldn't let it go.

Belle took two steps forward and raised her head to see her husband, Calvin, in front of her. She paused for just a moment but proceeded her trek forward. However, she didn't stop when she came up to him. Instead, she made a detour around his figure.
