Alpha Benjamin
“Alpha!” Ken burst into my office with urgency, his pace franetic. He’d been handling crucial matters for the pack in my absence but returned in the evening, bearing news that had sent shockwaves through the werewolf world. “Alpha, the Green Wood Pack has suffered the same mysterious attack as Silver Moon. They’ve been annihilated and burned, yet the remains of no bodies were found!” He halted abruptly, observing my desperate scrutiny of the reports detailing the Silvermoon and Green Wood Pack
assaults.
My attention remained fixed on the report, refusing to lift my gaze to meet Ken’s eyes. My focus was absorbed by every minute detail within the document. I had dispatched my spy to covertly infiltrate both territories, which were currently under the control of top–ranking packs. The spy returned with photographs and a handful of other items that had occupied me for nearly half the day as I meticulously cross–referenced the evidence.
As I perused the reports from the laboratory that had arrived just minutes ago, my eyes widened in disbelief. “How is this…” I murmured under my breath, I felt as if the ground. was crumbling under my feet.
“Alpha, what’s the matter? What does the report say?” Ken’s voice was tinged with worry as he approached my desk. With no response from me, he glanced at the reports, hist brow furrowing. After studying them for a moment, he looked back at me clearly puzzled. “I can’t spot any difference between the two pack incidents, Alpha. It seems that they’re both the work of the same individual, but…” He trailed off, sensing my abnormal reaction despite my unreadable expression. “Is something amiss, Alpha?”
“No, nothing’s wrong,” I interrupted, swiftly closing the files and reports, tossing them into the trash. “It’s probably just stress and lack of sleep causing me to mix up the two pack incidents,” I explained, shaking my head as I reached for a cigarette to calm my racing heart and mind. I had fucking lost my mind thinking about this nonsense and scaring myself.
Ken nodded in agreement. “I agree, Alpha. The situation is so delicate that suspicion is brewing among the packs, even among allies. The entire werewolf world is on edge and uncertain due to these mysterious attacks. Anyone could be the assailant and anyone could be the next target. We need to take measures to protect ourselves, Alpha,” he urged urgently.
My grip tightened on the cigarette as I nodded in response. “For now, fortify the

borders and focus on bolstering our manpower. We must be ready for war at any moment, anywhere,” I commanded, turning on my heel to exit the office.
“I understand, Alpha,” Ken affirmed, trailing after me as I issued a few more directives. until we reached the living room, where Willow had just entered the packhouse.
“Alpha, Beta Ken,” she greeted, coming to a stop and beaming at the two of us.
“Willow,” I returned the smile, my mood instantly lifting at the sight of her. I had been anticipating her arrival since the messages she sent earlier that morning.
“Willow, my girl, you’re finally here. I’ve been waiting for you all morning.” I exclaimed, spreading my arms for a warm embrace.
“I apologize for coming late, Alpha. I wanted to see you both as soon as possible, but there were a few matters I had to deal with,” she explained, pulling away from our hug then embracing Ken.
“It’s okay, Willow. As long as you remember us and make the effort to visit, we’re happy,” Ken chuckled. I nodded in agreement with Ken’s sentiment.
“How could I ever forget you two? I may have left the pack, but not my people,” Willow chuckled. “How are you doing, Alpha? Has your health…
“I’m perfectly fine. Please, don’t worry about me anymore,” I reassured her, glancing around. “Where are my little angels? Didn’t you bring them along?”
“Um… they’re…
“Those little rascals must have been drawn to something along the way. I’ll personally go fetch them,” Ken chuckled, heading out of the packhouse. I shook my head smiling, then noticed Willow’s gaze fixed on the entrance for some reason.
“Don’t worry, Ken will bring them in,” I assured her.
“No, actually Alpha…” she wanted to say something but an Omega interrupted her. “Coffee, Alpha?”
“Put it on the table. We will be there in a bit and about dinner…”

While the Alpha was engrossed in conversation with an Omega about dinner and other matters, I swiftly rummaged through my purse. “Um…Alpha, these are the Wade Moon

Pack’s documents,” I said respectfully, handing him the
papers.
He was momentarily taken aback, holding the papers as if they weren’t unreal. I could see the array of emotions flickering through his eyes as he beheld his name, seal, signature, and the Wade Pack’s insignia. The mixture of relief and joy at regaining his possession was unmistakable as a smile finally graced his lips.
“Willow, you truly rescued our pack,” he spoke, his eyes brimming with emotion. “You’ve saved the lives of hundreds of people,” he clasped my hand in his. “Thank you so much, Willow.”
I placed my other hand atop his and smiled warmly. “I’m glad to have helped you and my pack. There’s no need for thanks, I assured him. He nodded appreciatively, tucking the
“Let’s continue our chat over coffee,” he motioned for me to walk beside him. “Dinner will be ready very soon.”
Shit! It appeared that Alpha Benjamin had misconstrued my intentions, assuming that I would return to the pack right after obtaining the papers. To be honest, I hadn’t explained everything to him initially thinking I would be leaving the Emerald Bright Pack shortly after completing the rejection ceremony. However, Reuben had ensnared me with the conditions that he had set and the issue over the custody of Wyatt and Lori. Moreover, the sacred cave was sealed for the next three months so nothing had gone to plan.
“I’m afraid that is impossible, Alpha Benjamin,” a deep, authoritative voice resonated through the living room. Frowning in confusion, Alpha Benjamin turned his head toward the packhouse door, where Wyatt and Lori had entered. Behind them stood a

He loomed over me and retorted, “Then I’m going to my father–in–mates pack, my kids‘ grandpa’s pack, so I’m allowed too,” he declared confidently, rendering me speechless with his absurd reasoning. How swiftly he accepted Alpha Benjamin as his father–in–mate just to justify tagging along. This man…he’d do anything to get what he wanted.
“Mommy, please, let’s take daddy to grandpa’s pack too!” Wyatt pleaded.
“Yes, mommy please,” Lori chimed in, echoing her brother’s request.
Their persistent pleas only worsened my headache, especially when Reuben’s hopeful

gaze fixed on me. Defeated, I took a deep breath and relented, “Fine, you can come with me. But I’m warning you, there better not be any scenes like the last time. No fighting, not a single problem,” I cautioned firmly.
“Okay,” he nodded, immediately accepting.
Frowning at his compliance and finding it somewhat unbelievable, I added, “Keep a low profile. It’ll be problematic if your true identity is revealed to the pack members.”
“Whatever you say,” he smiled softly, promising whatever I wanted.
It seemed he had forgotten his promise to keep a low profile! His very countenance alone was enough to give away his status and dominance. His voice oozed superiority even when spoken slowly, making it evident that he was no ordinary wolf. Even Beta Ken, who couldn’t recognize Reuben’s face, stood back with a doubtful expression, having remembered Reuben’s scent from their previous encounter.
Glancing at Alpha Benjamin, I noticed his widened eyes at the sight of Reuben. He had clearly sensed Reuben’s strong aura and realized he was an Alpha. Then, his gaze shifted between Wyatt’s little face and Reuben’s, noticing the similarities between the two figures, small and large. “Is he…” his mouth slightly agape, he looked at me, seeking confirmation.
I nodded slightly. “This is Alpha Reuben Emerald,” I stated as Reuben walked in and positioned himself beside me, his gaze fixed on Alpha Benjamin.
The Alpha blinked in surprise a few times out of disbelief, “It is quite a surprise that Alpha Reuben is willing to visit our pack,” the Alpha smiled then stretched his hand to Reuben for handshake, “Welcome to my pack, Alpha Reuben. I am Alpha Benjamin
Wade,”
Reuben observed the Alpha’s outstretched hand but remained motionless. Holding my breath, I looked at Reuben, hoping he wouldn’t offend the Alpha. After a brief glance at me, acknowledging my desperate expression, he raised his hand for a handshake with Alpha Benjamin. “Alpha Reuben Emerald,” Reuben stated. Finally, I exhaled in relief. Luckily he was keeping his promise. However, just as I relaxed, Reuben unexpectedly wrapped his arm around my waist and drew me closer, as he remarked, “Willow’s soulmate.”
