"Silly," Debra murmured, reaching up to pinch Marion's cheek. "Why do you have a beard now?"

Marion took her hand in his. "Who do you think has been standing guard outside the Lowe Mansion all this time?"

"You haven't left at all?"

"Not even for a moment."

"What about bathroom breaks?"

"I have my ways."

Debra chuckled and nestled into his arms, feeling exhausted. "Now I know why I've been sleeping so well these past few days. It's because you've been watching over me."

Her soft hair brushed against his chest, tickling him.

His throat bobbed, his voice growing husky. "Since I've been so good, don't I deserve a reward?"

"Yes, you do." Debra paused. "But you men suggested killing people and smashing cameras. Don't you think... Ah, put me down."

Marion simply scooped her up and carried her inside.

"Marion!" Debra protested, her cheeks flushing.

He set her down on the sofa, looking at her with a soft smile. "No fuss. I'll go run you a hot bath."

"Bedtime prep?" Debra quipped.

Marion flicked her forehead. "You're naughty."

"So, did you lose weight or gain weight?"

"Gained, really."

During her stay at the Lowe Mansion, despite Drake's threats, she had been treated like a queen, except for that one bowl of plain soup.

"Alright, I'll let him off this time. But next time, he won't be so lucky."

Debra smiled, "The one who needs a bath to relax isn't me. It's you."

She reached up and touched his beard. "Every time I'm not by your side, you let yourself go. Remember last time? I had to shave you. What would you do without me?"

"Don't say that," Marion said, covering her mouth with his hand. "There won't be a time when you're not by my side. And I won't let you be alone again."
